This is the queen of its kind and a legend in the industry. The width is wider than normal eyelash curlers so it is easy to use. Great for beginners who are afraid of pinching their delicate skin around the eyes as the generous curve shape allows the curler to pinch as close to the lash root as possible without catching the skin.
The curling depth (or should I say the steepness of the curling curve) is also deep enough so as to suit all shapes of eyes; it is the ideal design to curl lashes from all parts of the eye: head, middle and tail.
I also really liked the quality of the rubber packing as they are crucial in delivering the curve without bending your lashes into a perpendicular shape or worse, plucking them out.
The curler comes with one more spare rubber but the shop doesn't seem to be selling any spare rubber on its own though so may pose a problem later on.
My first ever eyelash curlers were cheap ones from Boots many years ago and I always thought that they were all the same. That was until I discovered the Shiseido Curlers. They are simply fantastic!
I am Chinese and my eyelashes are very short and very straight which is very disheartening when my fiancé has naturally lovely long curled lashes! I have tried numerous mascaras which claim to lengthen, curl and volumise but they never really work. Shortly after applying mascara my lashes would start to uncurl and it all seemed like a waste of time. I have even gone to the expense and effort of having my eyelashes professionally permed.
The Shiseido curlers don't really look any different to other curlers but when I use them I can really tell the difference. They are rounded at the sides so that it is easier to get all your lashes in without pinching, which I could never do with my old Boots ones. I have quite small eyes and because Shiseido is a Japanese company I assume they have designed these curlers for Asian eyes, which is brilliant for me!
So now I can perfectly curl my lashes and apply mascara without them uncurling. But perhaps the best thing about these curlers is that sometimes I don't even bother putting mascara on after curling because my lashes stay curled! To me that is bloody amazing and worth every penny spent on these curlers.
Yes the Shiseido curlers are expensive but because they really work it means they are value for money. I now don't have to waste my money on mascaras that fail to live up to the hype.
