I always have a collection of emery boards in my handbag, in most rooms of the house, in my coat pocket etc. I used to bite my nails, I used to bite them so much they used to bleed and I did this until I got pregnant with my son 16 years ago. Since then my nails have just grown so easily and quickly that I haven't bitten them since and have lovely naturally long ones. Due to this I take great care of my nails, I do nail art and designs from home, I also like to keep my nails natural from time to time.

My nails tend to break a fair bit as they are quite brittle, so I like to have emery boards around in most rooms, in case I have a nail disaster. Superdrug is not often a shop I visit but I was looking at their hair dyes and saw these boards at the till, impulse buy, gotta love them. There are five in a pack and they are longer than some of the ones I have already, around 12cm long. They are rough on ones side and smoother on the other, it's not hard to work out which is which here.

For 99p a pack, you can't go wrong, I do find emery boards are fairly similar and these do the job. They hold together nicely and the actual board itself does keep its texture for a long time. There are instructions for use on the back, which is good if you are new to nail shaping or manicuring. I have also used these emery board for filing wood as I am making a dolls house from scratch and find these easier to hold than sandpaper. They have more uses than you realise.
