“ Brand: Tesco / Type: Tissues / Dosage Form: Tissues / Subcategory: Tissues & Wipes „
Generally I buy the cheap value tissues however even though I think they arwe ok for use in the bathroom which is where my eldest uses them (stops her wasting loads of toilet roll) I don't find they are very soothing when you have to keep blowing your nose. I bought some of these tissues whilst in my local Tesco store just before Christmas as both my girls were poorly and we were using loads of tissues for nose blowing. These tissues are part of Tescos own range of products and therefore you can only buy these from Tesco although you can buy similar from other supermarkets too. A box of these tissues is £1.75 usually although you do find they are quite often on offer at £1 which is obviously much better value. There is a couple of different box designs for these tissues and they are all pretty bright, our box had lots of brightly coloured dolphins swimming around on the outside of it as Sophie picked which tissues she wanted I must say dolphins wouldn't have been my choice. You have the name of the company and product on the box and the fact that the box contains 55 x 3 ply tissues which is less than their value box holds. The tissues are boxed in a cube shape and there is a perforated lid to take off to get to the tissues. The tissues are white in colour and they are really soft which is what I wanted as anyone who has had a cold will know your nose gets really sore after a while. The tissues are really strong too and you only need one generally to blow your nose and they don't rip and break in the middle like the cheaper ones can from a very snotty nose and believe me my girls were very snotty. These tissues are more expensive than the normal ones we buy and I wouldn't really pay for them for normal tissue usage it was just due to the noses getting sore that I bought the nicer ones. I would recommend these tissues they are really soft, strong and absorbent and they do exactly what you would want a tissue to do.
I am never without a box of tissues on my dressing table, I use them for all sorts of reasons and I even have 'spare' boxes inside the cupboard in my room as quite often I cannot tell if the box is soon going to be empty or not and I run out at the last minute and find myself without any at all. I hate resorting to using toilet paper for taking off my eye make up etc. I like to use the Tesco Fun Soft tissues, which I buy from my local Tesco Extra. I pay just over £1 for a box, and each box contains 55 3 ply pure white tissues I use these for all sorts of reasons, removing eye make up is the primary reason I use them but I also use them to wipe my hands if I have been applying fake tan or body creams and lotions. The tissues themselves, as I say, are lovely and white in colour and they are very soft to touch. They are a surprisingly thick tissue and they do feel gorgeously soft on the skin and they are very gentle whenever I use them around the delicate eye area. I also obviously use these to blow my nose from time to time but I generally tend to use them for make up reasons. I use one tissue for each eye and generally speaking I am pretty impressed that they don't break up or shred, as can happen with a lot of tissues. The other great thing about these tissues is the super packaging. I just love the really funky brightly coloured boxes they come in. There are all sorts of designs, ranging from spots, dots and stripes to big bold dashes of colour. They really do brighten up my dressing table area. Overall, the quality is pretty good and whilst the tissues themselves are not patterned (unlike the Marks and Spencer ones I also buy) they are a very good quality soft and strong tissue nevertheless, and I really recommend them.
Tissues is something that most houses have somewhere but in my personal experience it is something that is rarely used thankfully because I only tend to use tissues when I am suffering with a cold which touchwood tends to be once a year or less. I dont suffer from hayfever and neither does my partner so tissues last quite a long time in our house. I got these tissues over a year ago in Tesco where they came in a twin pack. My tissues are actually in a rectangular tissue box but they are classed as part of the fun soft facial tissue range. The tissues cost me something like £3 for two boxes which at the time was the cheapest option available bar the value range. Up until a few years ago I hadnt really noticed the value of super soft tissues but then after suffering from a very bad cold and ripping my nose to shreds using toilet paper for the first couple of days I truly learned the value of a soft tissue! The box design of my box of tissues is a vertical striped pattern with greens, oranges, blues and reds used. The two packs were held together by a large red sticker which is good as it meant no unnecessary plastic wrapping. However, the sticker would not come off which left me thinking that the boxes didnt look brilliant on the shelf. Each box housed 80 tissues. To open the box you simply tear away the oval of perforated cardboard and you are then greeted with a small opening which is predominantly covered by clear plastic to keep unused tissues clean and dust free. I did have to put my hand in in order to pull a tissue out but after this first one the design kept feeding me new tissues until I was almost at the end of the box. The tissues are soft and very thick. They are pure brilliant white. I would say they are approximately 6 inches square and I was really impressed with the quality of these as they are of a very high standard. Since buying the tissues I have had a slight cold and they coped well with this but since then I have just been using them every couple of days for blowing my nose or cosmetic use. The tissues have a lovely velvety soft feel to them and I am more than happy using them on my skin which is very sensitive. I dont feel like they rub at my skin at all and when using them to blow my nose they dont tug at my skin. Instead they feel very soft and like they are caring for my skin. The tissues are strong and they cope well with nose blowing and in my experience they are a lot stronger than some I have tried. They aren't quite as strong as the leading brands such as Kleenex but they are a very close second. When using these my skin does not become red or sore like it often would with a cold so I do feel they help to soothe skin. I have also used these for cosmetic use and even as a quick substitute for kitchen roll and I have found that they absorb really well and do not tear or break easily. I like these tissues. The two boxes I bought are still with me now so they really are longlasting, they are a good price and the box design is quite nice too. They are of a high quality and I would definitely buy them again.
WHAT ARE THEY? Tissues from Tesco, put into a colourful and fun box to make them more attractive in your home. ARE THEY ANY GOOD? These tissues are soft because they are 3 ply so have three layers of paper to make up one tissue. They are smaller than other tissues I've used and that makes me wonder if they are more for children than adults because of the brightly patterned box. The tissues are quite difficult to pull out of the box because the hole at the top is narrow and the tissues are folded into themselves quite tightly. They are absorbent if you have a runny nose and if you sneeze into one of these tissues they will collect any mucus deposits. They don't make my nose sore and are comfortable when I use them to wipe my nose even when my hayfever is bad and I feel like I am wiping my nose all the time. I've used them to wipe up little spills of milk or other liquids but they are not strong enough for that purpose and disintegrate very quickly, I always use one of these tissues now to blot my lipstick because they are soft on my lips and remove the correct amount of colour to reapply a second coat or add a layer of gloss. ANYTHING ELSE? A box of Fun Facial tissues costs £1 and you get 55 tissues in the box. That's expensive for the amount of tissues and how small they are but it's worth it sometimes for the unusual and very attractive box. 4 Dooyoo Stars.
==Overview== As stated in my previous Kleenex review, I often used to purchase these tissue cubes from Tesco which come in a variety of different coloured boxes. One would sit on my desk in my office and one would live next to my bed. In hayfever months I tend to go through a lot of tissues, particularly through the night due to constant sniffling. When they are on offer (which is when I buy them) they cost me £1 which I think is sufficient for tissues, but as I came to find out, although they are cheap perhaps they aren't the best value or best tissue for me.... ==My opinion== Compared to the Kleenex Balsam which I have already reviewed, I found that these tissues left my nose sore after constant wiping and blowing of the nose. The tissues don't have any balsam in them and aren't as soft as the Kleenex. For occasional use i.e. one or two blows of the nose per day I have no problem using these tissues but for anything more, unfortunately after being treated to the luxury of Kleenex balsam, I don't think I will be buying them again. As I mentioned I usually buy these when they are on offer in Tesco for around £1 but will be investigating Kleenex deals in the future as I find the cube of tissues here only lasts around 2 weeks in high hayfever season compared to a month for the Kleenex so I will have to try and work out which is actually better value. I would probably buy these again for my office at work as I particularly like the jazzy colours that the boxes come in, they tend to liven up my desk a little bit and out of hayfever season I don't use tissues too much so they will be handy to have around just in case. ==Overall== I would buy these tissues again for occasional use. They are quite cheerfully boxed for a child's bedroom and such like but for bad colds or prolonged hayfever I would give them a miss and stick to something a bit more soothing for your red nose.
I don't seem to have to buy tissues very often as I tend to use baby wipes for most things even runny noses despite my son being almost 4 (wow I feel OLD writing that!. . . anyway). However I keep a box upstairs on my bedroom table and another on the side table in my living room, those are the two places I'm likely to require them after watching that movie that makes you cry buckets and you can't quite get rid of the tears fast enough or alternatively the situation where you can' actually breathe but green liquid keeps oozing from your nose anyway. When they do need replenishing I tend to pick up whatever is on offer, I've used the budget tissues and they aren't nice so I tend to go for ones that you get around the £1 mark and if possible go for a colour that will tie in vaguely with my colour scheme. While browsing the new Tesco store that opened up to me a few months back I was reminded to buy some tissues and I came across these particular ones that were fun looking, not what you normally get with a box of tissues and at a regular price of £1.45 but on offer at £1 for 55, 3 ply tissues I decided to give them a try. Firstly the box is the focal point being so bright and rather quirky, there are a range of designs to choose from and I went for the black and pink design as it fitted well with my bedroom which was sporting a black with bright pink accent duvet cover so matched well. The box has a checked pattern but is distorted almost like those wonky mirrors that expand and diminish certain parts of the picture. The top of the box has the standard peel-able cardboard oval with perforated edges which comes away easily without leaving unsightly ripped cardboard behind. The box is a cube which is nice I think as it takes up less room than the regular rectangular box. The tissues easily come out the box without much effort and come out just one at a time which saves wastage. There's never any issue of pulling out a tissue and when reaching for another there isn't one poking out the top waiting for use which I was pleased about. After removing the tissue the first thing I noticed was how small they were, I had expected them to be a little smaller but not as quite as small as they were although for the size of the box it makes sense. As they are 3 ply they feel soft to the touch and when using them against my face I found them to be soft and gentle and not rough leaving my skin sensitive and vulnerable. I found that they were pretty absorbent despite my sniffling along to whichever movie I was watching. They did get wet and useless a little quicker than other major brands though and I came to the same conclusion when using them fighting a cold a little while later. I seemed to go through the box much quicker than I would if I had had a box of Velvet tissues instead so I was a little disappointed on that front. Although they have a multitude of uses and are a handy item to have around for the regular price I feel you could get a much better brand of tissue doing the same if not a better job. For the price I paid they were ok, a nice novelty item but I would rather have had quality tissues instead of a nice looking box. I do have to say though that I am impressed that Tesco use controlled forests to obtain the tissues and that the box is recyclable, I am not a environmentalist nut by any stretch of the imagination but I do like to do my bit when I can and so I was impressed by this however I usually go for Velvet when they are on offer for £1 and they have the 3 tree's planted for very 1 chopped down and a recyclable box and I feel their tissues are superior to those Tesco have provided. It seems as if Tesco value profits more than quality with this product and indeed many others. Overall I would buy these again at the price of £1 as the box was quirky and unusual but only if there were no other alternatives as I do prefer others I have used over these.
My dear other half always has a box of tissues on her dressing table in our bedroom. She mainly uses them for wiping herself down but I do use them myself as well, though I don't know if she knows how much I actually do use them. They are very handy. We buy ours from Tesco and they come in very bright cardboard boxes with bold patterns on them. We seem to have a different patterned box every time she buys these but they do brighten up the room. We also have another box in the downstairs toilet, on the windowsill but with a different pattern. These are available in our local Tesco Extra but I have also seen them for sale in the smaller Tesco outlets. There are 55 tissues per box, all three ply and they cost £1.45 per box and they are called Fun Soft Facial Tissues. I think this is because the box is 'fun looking' and probably would be better suited to a teenage girl's room, but my wife seems to really like the packaging. The tissues are large and of a decent enough size. They are three ply and so very strong though I have to say they are not the softest tissue I have ever used. If I need one in the night then I get out of bed and keep a couple underneath my pillow if I have a runny nose. They are white in colour and just plain looking with frills and no patterns but they do the job perfectly. There is a perforated oval shape on the top of each of these boxes and you just simply remove these to release the first tissue - the rest follow. The packaging is unique, I personally think, and I do think these bright bold boxes actually stand out on the shelves from the other boxes of tissues. There is an annoying bit of plastic in the hole which occasionally tears up a tissue so I remove this with a pair of scissors. Overall, cannot rally complain about these tissues. They are strong, absorbent, could possibly do with being a bit softer but overall decent enough quality so recommended.
I have never been one to buy loads of box's and tissues... or to carry little packets round in my bag like many of us do... I used to take the "Men" approach if I needed to blow my nose and just use toilet paper! When I moved into my house a couple of months ago I had my living room decorated cream, black and grey with lime green accessories... After winging to my mother one day about needing MORE lime green accessories, the next time I saw her she came back with one of these tissue cubes just for my living room - even though, as previously stated I am not a huge tissue fan, I was so happy as the box is cream and lime green in colour - WIN! Sadly though the cube of tissues has been sitting leading a miserable life next to my fireplace... only used by the occasional visitor with a runny nose... Until this past week that is. With the "weather changing" as I call it, I appear to be left with cold / flu symptoms... Much to the tissues happiness! They have been a little god send whilst I have been sneezing and hacking my lungs up! ********** About the product These fun tissue cubes do come in a number of styles and colours - mine as previously mentioned is cream and lime green with some flower patterns throughout. Everyone will be able to find a style in this range to suit them! The tissues come in a cardboard cube and contain 55 x 3 ply tissues. They are currently retailing on the tesco website at £1.30 a box but I am sure these do come on offer from time to time. Originally when you buy the box like many other tissues you have to pop the opening top of the box open in order to get the tissues out. Above the hole where you retrieve the tissues from there is also a plastic material which is to help hold the tissues inside the box. Overall the box is secure and you aren't at much of a risk from knocking the box over and having the tissues being knocked around. The box doesn't hold any information about what the tissues are made from ect. The tissues themselves are white in colour. They are not the best quality tissues I have ever touched and by far not the kindest on my nose. But at least they aren't like "tracing paper" toilet roll that you can often see being used in supermarket toilets. ********** My Verdict Overall if you aren't a big tissue user like me you will love these cute funky box's to match your personality. The tissues are not of the softest quality and if that is what you are looking for you need to be going for a known brand name. I would buy these again due to me not being overly fussy over the softness. And you can't argue with the price compared to the more expensive brands.
Nowadays I find that tissues are a needed essential to have just handy in the corner of the room for when you need them. Personally I don't use very many but if I forget to buy some I soon realise that they aren't there and have an awkward situation finding an alternative. Normally I buy just the cheapest tissues I can find at the time if I am paying or Kleenex if I'm not - these tissues however, were actually bought for me. When I first got this box of tissues I immediately noticed the actual box, due to the bright and vibrant colours that cover the outside of it. There are many different patterns available across many of the Tesco stores nationwide. Inside the box you will find 55 3-ply tissues, which are square when in the box and also when out. Apparently the size is 210mm by 200mm. To get the tissues out of the box there is a tear of oval on the top of the box that you pull the tissues out through. The only criticism that I would have with this product is that the tissues can be a little tricky to pull out of the top of the box through this hole as they get stuck and you have to hold the box and give them a bit of a wiggle. Tricky if you've just sneezed in your hand. To use the end of the box I have actually widened the hole slightly out of frustration and am glad to report that this is a brilliant solution and I suggest that if Tesco read this they should change the design of the box. Back to the actual tissues in question, I have found that they are actually very absorbent and despite being smaller than most other tissues I buy they actually are still large enough to use. Being 3-ply the tissues feel soft and are very cushioned to give you a pleasant feel with no scratching. Although tissues are only used for a few seconds normally I have used them for other uses on occasions and they are quite tough due to having three layers that don't separate too easily. There's nothing special about these tissues but they do the job that you need. Overall these tissues are average quality and come in a very attractive box. Slight modifications have to be made to the box if you don't want a fuss but for a cheap box of tissues I don't mind this seeing as it doesn't take long to make the hole bigger. Would I buy these again? Well yes actually, well if no others are dramatically cheaper, I am on a university budget after all.
Tissues seem to be an essential item for me, I pretty much constantly have the sniffles. I vary what brand I buy depending on what is the best price at the time, unless I am actually ill in which case I am very loyal to my trusted Kleenex Balsam tissues. These Fun Soft Facial Tissues are made by Tesco and are available exclusively in Tesco stores. The box is possibly the nicest thing about this product, as it comes with a range of decorative designs to choose from. I picked the one that is pictured in the centre of the image shown above, which has a wonky checkerboard pattern in bold black and bright pink. Each box contains 55 x 3-ply tissues and they are a square shape when folded out flat. They are slightly smaller than most boxed tissues as they are a smaller squareish shape and come in a cube shaped box which is a good indication of the size of the individual tissues. The size is listed as 210mm x 200 mm. The tissues come packed in a compact cube shaped cardboard box, with a pop out section on the top for removing the tissues. I found it rather tricky to remove the tissues from the box, as is a tuft sticking out of the top but the tissues are rather tightly packed in so I have to use both hands to grab onto the top tissue and stabilise the box to avoid pulling out a bundle of tissues. This can be a little inconvenient if I need to pick one up quickly. I currently have a box of these tissues in my bedroom at home and have no strong feelings about them to be honest. The 3-ply tissue is quite thick and absorbent, and the tissues are secured at the edges so that the individual sheets stay firmly together and don't separate when being used. The tissue paper seems to be quite durable and is strong as well as absorbent. I have used them for wiping up around small drinks spills, as well as the usual nose-blowing, hand-wiping, and occasional dusting of small items such as my bedside lamp. They are suitable for all sorts of uses and are a handy item to have around. However, I don't think they are any better than other tissues I have tried and there is nothing special about them which would drive me to purchase them over another brand when the time comes to buy some more. The only real downside is that the tissues do not seem to live up to their name, as they are a little on the firm and rough side. I feel like they are not particularly soft against my skin and if I had to use them more frequently, for instance if I had a cold, then this would have caused a bit of irritation. Tesco Fun Soft Facial Tissues are certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) which means their materials are obtained from well-managed forests and other controlled sources. Good for the environment and good for your conscience! The box that they come in can also be recycled after use. Overall these are a good tissue product from Tesco but nothing overly special. The box is very cute and this is the main reason why I purchased them in the first place, although I'm not convinced it would encourage me to buy them again.
I can't really remember when I bought the box of Tesco fun facial tissues to be honest; it must have been during one of my regular trips to Tesco. They had been sat in my cupboard pretty much untouched as I was working my way through another box of tissues but when I damaged my knee I found that for a while I was pretty much bed ridden and so I asked my sister to fetch this box of tissues upstairs so I had some up there. The tissues that I have are in a cube shaped box which is a bright pink featuring black stripes on two of the sides and a kind of psychedelic black print on the other two sides. I like the look of the box because it isn't too large like some of these huge man sized tissue boxes which don't seem to fit anywhere but I also like the fact that the box is nice to look at and stands out as being a bit girly and fun. As the box is a cube it stands up well and is perhaps around 10cm squared so it fits nicely in to my cupboard downstairs but also doesn't stand out too much in my bedroom either. There is a perforated section to pull off at the top as there always is with tissue boxes and in this one there is the plastic inner with a small slit which helps to prevent too many tissues being pulled out at once. The box contains 55 three ply tissues so whilst it isn't the largest box of tissues I do feel it is enough because frankly we don't go through too many tissues at home anyway unless one of us has a cold! The tissues pull out of the box quite easily always pulling another one slightly through with it so there is something to hold on to when you next want to pull a tissue out. The tissues feel ok to the touch but they are nothing like as soft as kleenex balsam for example. The tissues are a good size I find for both my son and I as they aren't too big that they are tricky for him to use without smothering himself! I have to say though that whilst I have found that these tissues are ok for general use they really do not stand up to the test when someone has a cold. My son has suffered a bit of a cold recently and we found that the tissues ripped quite easily when having to deal with some serious snot as well as making my sons nose a little bit sore as they were not as soft as what we would ordinarily use. In the end I sent someone out to buy some Kleenex balsam tissues as I knew these were much softer and would be able to stand the test. These tissues can be bought from tesco or from the tesco website and they will cost £1.45. They can be bought in a few funky looking boxes which admittedly do look nicer than some of the more boring tissue boxes but to be honest I would rather pay an extra pound or so and have some really good quality tissues for when we have a cold. For day to day use these are fine so I guess it just depends on what you want from a tissue! Personally, I will stick to Kleenex I think. Thanks for reading my review!
