I always have a couple of boxes of tissues on the go, one next to my bed, and one in the living room. I currently seem to be using the Tesco Everyday Value Tissues - I was previously using Asda's own (which I think I've reviewed previously), but we seem to have gone back to shopping in Tesco at the moment.
The packaging is different to dooyoo''s picture, with the newer Everyday Value branding rather than Extra Value. It is simple packaging with little pictures of purple things on it (such as flowers and butterflies). The tissues are apparently made with FSC certified material from responsible sources. The box is made of card, so can be recycled.
Each box cotains 225 2 ply facial tissues, and the box does seem fairly big. It lasts for a while when I''m not using them for a cold. They come out of the box easily without breaking, and don''t fall to pieces like some cheap tissues do.
Being cheap tissues these are not the best to use if you do have a cold, and might leave your nose feeling red and sore with prolonged use. However, they are fine for normal nose blowing (whilst eating hot curries!), mild colds, and for mild hayfever useage. I also use them for wiping my mouth (as a messy eating) and wiping up small spillages.
A box of these tissues costs just 65 pence, so I would say that is pretty good value. I just bought another box yesterday to put in the cupboard for when these ones are finished.
4 out of 5 stars from me.
As I'm sitting at home with my blanket and tissues, feeling very sorry for myself as I have an awful cold I thought I might as well sit and review something seeing as I really have nothing better to do with myself! What to review? Tissues! As I have a big bx of them right in front of me!
First of all, the box doesn't look like the picture above any more as Tesco have revamped their blue stripe value range to Tesco everyday value. This is now a white box with purple writing and purple prints of butterflies, flowers, lips, make - up and mirrors, eyes and lots of girl-y pictures basically.
Obviously as it's from the Tesco Everyday Value range it is only available from Tesco stores and on line.
They cost 65p a box and in a box you get about 225 sheets. Very cheap compared to some of the big brands! The box has an oval shaped on the top which is dotted around the edges so you just pop that out to get to the tissues easily.
The tissues are quite a good size really and not tiny like I thought they would be for the price.
They are not quite as thick as some of the more expensive brands but I think they are thick enough.
The main problem I have experienced with these tissues are that they are quite harsh feeling and not very soft at all.
With having two little ones, I always have a box of tissues in anyway. Usually just whatever is cheapest or whatever I can quickly grab when I'm shopping after work so it's usually these ones. These are normally ok tissues for our occasional use and do the job well at a good cheap price.
On days like today when I'm full of cold, sat feeling sorry for myself and seem to be need about a hundred tissues a minute, they are very harsh and rough on my already sore red nose! Infact because it's already sore these tissues are like blowing my nose with sand paper! (Told you I was feeling sorry for myself!)
These tissues are probably the cheapest around, they are good to keep in the house or at work to just use every now and again, but if you've got a cold and may need to invest in some better quality, softer ones!
I give these tissues a 3 out of 5
Thank you for reading!

For some reason, I have a nose that likes to run several times a day, and therefore I tend to get through a large amount of tissues. It really doesn't help that I get hay fever during the summer, which makes my nose run throughout the day. I also find tissues useful to wipe my hands and make-up products after applying make-up, which again means more tissues being used every day. Because of how many tissues I seem to get through on a regular basis, I feel the need to purchase boxes of tissues that are very cheap, which is what lead me to look at buying these tissues.
When I used to purchase these Tesco Everyday Value tissues a good few months ago now, they only cost an amazing price of around 35p. Unfortunately, the price of them has since gone up to 68p, which is quite a considerable increase, but they are still extremely cheap in comparison to the boxes of tissues offered by many other companies. These tissues can of course only be found in Tesco, but there seems to be a Tesco store pretty much everywhere nowadays, and so I don't think this will be much of an issue for most people. They are also available to purchase on the Tesco website.
As many people are aware, Tesco have now rebranded their 'Value' range into the 'Everyday Value' range, and the packaging of these products has now altered. Unlike the fetching design displayed here on dooyoo, these tissues now come in a white box that is decorated with purple images, mainly images of beauty products and flowers. The writing on the bottom of the box is also purple, to match the colour of the images. It is a much nicer than the previous design, I feel. On the top of the box is a perforated oval shape, which is easily opened to reveal the white tissues inside. There are an average of 225 2ply tissues in each box, with a sheet size of approximately 200mm by 210mm, meaning that these are in no way going to rival Kleenex's Mansize tissues in terms of size, but I find them to be a decent size personally. Each box of tissues displays the FSC label, which we are told means that buying these tissues supports 'the growth of responsible forest management worldwide', which is good considering how many tissues I manage to get through.
I have previously mentioned that I find the size of these tissues to be sufficient, and they may not be the thickest tissues available, but I think they are fine for the price. The only main issue that I have with these tissues is that the two parts of each tissue easily become separated, and it can be a bit of a pain reaching into the box for a tissue and only coming out with half of a tissue, or worse, one and a half and then not realising it's one and a half and so I use it, and then next time I go back into the box and there's only half of a tissue on it's own and what the hell can I do with half a tissue?! It can be frustrating! But then they're only 68p and so who cares? I don't find them to be particularly rough when used on a regular basis but they aren't the best to use if you have a sore nose, and sometimes it is best to use a more expensive brand if you have a cold and need to blow your nose constantly.
They may not be the softest, biggest and thickest tissues available, but for the price, I certainly can't complain; they do the job and at 68p a box, I think they're great value.
I decided to buy these tissues because they were very cheap and I wanted to save some money. I thought since I hadn't tried them before they would be worth a try to see if my family and myself liked them.
They come housed in a cardboard box, and at the top of the box there is a perforated hole where the tissues come from the box. These tissues come from the box with no problem with any getting stuck inside.
They are a 2 ply tissue but they don't feel like a 2 ply to me, they feel just like a thin tissue and you can see through them when you hold them against the light. Very thin and not a tissue I like very much.
They are a white colour and are quite thin tissues, they aren't that soft but I didn't really think they would be super soft but did think they would maybe be far softer than they actually are. They also feel really rough when I wipe my nose and some of my grandchildren have complained they feel scratch their skin and make it a little sore. Their noses because red with just a simple wipe, so I decided not to allow them to wipe their noses with them again because I didn't want them to feel uncomfortable using them. There is nothing worse than a sore nose for anyone and especially young children. Their skin is far soften than adults skin and it can irritate much more quickly than an adults.
They do absorb quite well for the price but I wouldn't say they would be ideal for anyone suffering with a very bad cold or flu. We have only used these tissues to wipe our noses when it has been a little runny but I wouldn't say they would be good enough for any runny noses which are to the extreme where it drips all over the place.
There are a good amount of tissues in the box and for just 68p you get 100 tissues. Good amount for the price but I don't think they are of a good quality and I would rather pay a little bit more money for a better and softer box of tissues.
Because they aren't so soft, my wife has been using them for removing make up and using them for wiping cream from jars which need cream removed from them etc.
I prefer a stronger tissue, these I find rip really easily and are a little smaller than some other products I have bought for around the same price.
I won't be buying these tissues again anytime soon because they aren't suitable for my family or myself and I don't recommend them if you are wanting to use a soft, strong tissue and ones which don't rip and absorb far better.
The only good thing I can say about these is the price and nothing much else and if you are really strapped for cash they may be ok for a short term usage but I wouldn't use them if you have a heavy cold and especially if you have flu.
I rate these tissues only 1 star.
**A note on Tesco Value**
As Tesco tries to make it's Value brand a bit less 'obvious' and a bit more accessible to all, it's renaming everything Tesco Value to Tesco Everyday Essentials. So these tissues are now sold as Tesco Everyday Essentials Facial Tissues.
**Price and Availability**
Tesco Everyday Essentials Facial Tissues are available in most Tesco stores (sometimes you can't get them in Tesco Metro type stores) and with your grocery order on Tesco.com.
The Tesco Everyday Essentials Facial Tissues are currently priced at a very reasonable 36p.
Tesco Everyday Essentials Facial Tissues are packaged in a similar style box to your brand leaders, ie, a long rectangular box with a perforated oval opening. Unlike more expensive tissue boxes this does not have the plastic dispenser over the opening, but it's not a big problem for me as I find the plastic dispenser a bit fiddly anyway.
The box feels quite cheap, low grade cardboard but the new Everyday Essentials style is much softer and nicer than the old harsh red stripes branding, and it now looks OK in the lounge or spare room (in fact, I have a box of tissues in every room, I have a toddler!)
The box itself is printed in a blue colour with the Tesco Everyday Essentials logo to the top and a small pattern of icons like flowers and lipsticks in a band around the middle. It looks quite nice for a budget item overall.
The tissues are 2-ply, which really should be enough for facial tissues which are used generally for face wiping, nose blowing and lipstick blotting, all quite low demand actions, tissue wise (I wouldn't use these to mop up a spilled cup of tea for example.. that's where you need 'thirst pockets' and the like!)
They do feel like cheap tissues, as they're a bit rough to the touch. If I had a cold and I was blowing my nose every few minutes, I'd invest in a Kleenex Balsam type tissue, as too much blowing with a cheap tissue can result in a sore, chapped nose. But for wiping my little one's face once a day, picking up food she's dropped and the hundred and one other little things I do with the tissues, it's really not a problem. I use so many tissues during the day and to pay £1.50 a box or more would be a huge economical blow to me!
So for 36p, I don't think the low quality is anything to be suprised at, and nothing you can complain about, overall. You do get what you pay for.
Since buying Tesco Everyday Essentials Facial Tissues I have tried a cube of tissues priced at 39p from Home Bargains, these are also a 2 ply but the box is so pretty with flowers over it and I prefer the space saving of the cube dispenser, the tissues are much much softer, and for the few pence more, I have now switched to using these overall. Whenever I am passing a Home Bargains I grab a few more boxes.
I'd say that overall, Tesco Everyday Essentials Facial Tissues are OK for the 36p they cost and can be used for a multitude of little wipes and pick ups around the house. They're not something I recommend for frequent nose blowing however. They certainly have benefitted from their brand revamp and overall if I need some tissues and I'm in Tesco, I still grab a box.
I do however prefer the Home Bargains tissues at 3p more per box, they look nicer and are far, far softer. So I do think you need to take into consideration what else you can buy around this price because though you might say the Tesco Everyday Essentials Facial Tissues are a bargain, you can have a much better quality of tissue for a few pence more.
I do recommend the Tesco Everyday Essentials Facial Tissues as a cheap tissue, but they're not my first choice of cheap tissue, and this has to reflect in the 3 out of 5 star rating I'm giving them.
Final words - shop around, if you have a Home Bargains near you, you can buy much much nicer tissues for mere pence more.
We're on another 'stretch the pennies as far as they will go' mission in our house at the moment. So I am trying cheaper products wherever I can to see what a difference it will make. I do buy boxed tissues regularly, with 2 messy daughters and runny noses these are useful to have on the side to grab quickly.
== Packaging ==
The packaging has now changed from the picture above. Tesco's rebranded their value range, it has lost the 'look at me I'm cheap blue and white stripes' to a more subtle 'everyday value' range.
The background is white cardboard with purple images on, butterflies, flowers, makeup, a mirror. The cardboard perforated disc on the top of the box is easy to remove neatly.
== The tissue ==
They are 2 ply tissues, which means it is made up of 2 sheets stuck together. The tissues come out easily individually when you pull them gently. They are not the thickest of tissues and aren't the softest either but are good for every day use. In our house they are used for wiping noses, wiping up drink spills (the youngest likes to 'water' the wooden floor at every opportunity), these also make good bandages for cuddly toys and blankets for the dolls in the dolls house!
If one of us has a particularly bad cold I tend to buy slightly softer tissues as these can be a bit rough on the skin if you keep having to wipe it and it gets sore.
== Price and Availability ==
These are available from Tescos in store and on their online grocery site at www.tesco.com. They are currently £0.68 per box. A box contains 225 facial tissues.
== Overall Summary ==
These are a cheap alternative to branded tissues. I will be buying these again as I think they provide good value for money.
Thanks for reading.
We have been on a bit of an economy drive in our house as we are saving for our wedding at the moment and would also quite like to book a holiday away somewhere warm before we get married. I have been cutting down our weekly shop price and trying to stretch our pounds further. I came across these Tesco Value Tissues and thought I might as well try them as they come in a big box and our quite cheap to buy as well.
These tissues come in a box of 225, they are 2ply. They are a good size and can be folded up nicely and are comfortable to use.
What I Thought
I quite liked these tissues and would definitely consider buying them again, they are not the best on the shelf, but they are definitely the best value.
I find that I have no irritation on my nose when I use these tissues, even when I have a cold and am using them every day, they are just as gentle to use on my nose as other tissues I have used and although they do not have the same luxurious feeling, the are much cheaper and do the job the same as more expensive brands.
I found that these tissues were soft enough but not as soft as other brands I have tried, I think that they are a great buy for anyone on a budget, as all the pennies in my shopping budget.
Price and Availability
You can buy a box of 225 tissues in Tesco for 68p. I think that this is fantastic value and is enough for me to be spending in my weekly budget for groceries. These tissues work out at less than 0.5p a tissue, which is great and they are definitely worth the money. I don't think I would ever buy the more expensive brands now for the house, as these are good enough and do the trick.
I think that these are a great tissue and they are fantastic value. I think that they are a great buy for anyone trying to cut their weekly shop budget as they are reasonable quality for a great price. Overall I would give these tissues 3 out of 5 stars.

I pick up a couple of boxes of these Tesco everyday value tissues every week when I do my weekly shop. The cost around 65p, and they are brilliant value for money. You wouldn't think they were part of a value range, they are a good quality box of tissues!
They come in a plain card box with the usual everyday value design on them, they actually do not look cheap or like they are in a value range, which is great as I always have a box of these in my bedroom out on show as well as in the front room. These tissues are essential in my household! I use them to wipe my babies nose, or face if he has been sick, or grab a few to mop up any spillages of his drinks etc. These really do come in handy when you have a baby, I am constantly pulling a tissue from the box for something!
I also use these in my bedroom, I like to have tissues by my bed, in case I have to blow my nose in the night! I also use them to wipe my babies face if he has been sick in the night etc. These tissues are so easy to pull out of the box. On the top of the box is a perforated oval shape, which you pull out, and once you have pulled out the first tissue, it pulls the next one so it is poking out of the box for when you want it. When you pull the tissue, it only ever pulls just the one tissue out, it never pulls a load of them stuck together, which is what I love about these tissues. It is really easy and quick to just pull one tissue out, which is handy when you need one really quickly for your baby.
These tissues are white in colour, and are not too thin, they handle wiping up my babies face, blowing my nose etc, perfectly and hardly ever rip or tear. They do feel slightly thin, but they are a good thickness for what I need them for. They don't feel amazingly soft, but they do not feel rough on my skin either, except for when I have a cold, they aren't quite soft enough for that. If you are using them very often, it is better to pay a bit more and buy a bit more expensive box of tissues for a cold.
We go through 2 or 3 boxes a week of these tissues in our house, we couldn't do without them!
They are excellent tissues for the price and we don't ever have any problems with them. You do get a lot of tissues in a box, the box is completely full, tightly packed with tissues, but they come out really nicely. I highly recommend these tissues, for just 65p they are brilliant!
I keep a box of plain white tissues from Tesco in the bottom left hand drawer of my desk at work. The ones I use for work are the very cheap ones from Tesco's Basic Range. These only cost 60p for a large sized box containing 225 plain white, decent sized tissues. The box itself isn't very inspiring. It's very plain and simple looking in basically white with splashes of orange and the Tesco value Range emblazoned across it, just to drive the point home. I have a few of these boxes and I bought them just before Tesco changed their packaging so I managed to pick up a few boxes at reduced price - and less than 60p for a large box of tissues is good for me!
The tissues themselves are rather thin, however, but I mainly just use them for the occasional blowing of my nose at work or wiping my hands etc. They are a nice bright white colour and though they don't shred easily when blowing my nose, they are not the most absorbent tissue on the market. This means that I will often have to use two (or even three!) at a time, instead of just the one, as I do with my better quality Kleenex tissues, so I suppose in this respect, they might not work out as cost effective as I'd imagined them.
They are handy however, and they come out of the perforated edge on the box easily, most of the time and I am able to remove exactly how many I want at any one time, without the risk of pulling out a great handful.
On the whole, I have to admit they are pretty good value for money and as there are so many in the box (and I don't use them that often), they actually do work out good value for money. I'm pleased with them and I give them four out of five stars.
===Tesco Value brands have now changed to Everyday Value and the box is now cream with small purple images around the sides===
Everyday Value Tissues.
225 2 ply tissues.
Made with FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified material from responsible sources.
Contents made from 100% recycled fibre.
Made in the UK for Tesco.
Cream oblong box. Has Everyday Value type branding - that is small images of flowers, butterflies, make up etc - this time ni shades of purple and mauve.
Images are continued around the two long sides.
Bottom of box has a pop out oval shape.
Currently not listed on the Tesco website but I have just recently bought a box for 68p.
I do not normally buy lots of tissues but recently we have all been having lots of colds so when I did my Tesco order I added this box to my list.
The design is quite clever in its way as when you first see the box the images around the sides are upside down. However this is because the pop out disc to allow access to the tissues is on the bottom - so that once it is opened all you see are the small purple and mauve images along the two long sides of the box so the there is no mention of 'Tesco' or 'Value' anywhere - though obviously lots of people who are familiar with the Tesco Everyday Value range might guess what it is - but from a distance it just looks a pretty box with small flowers down the side.
Obviously these are not extra strong tissues but they are adequate and do the job. They are quite thin and the 2 ply do come apart easily - but if necessary you can always use two together. They do not have any added ingredients such as balms but that does not bother me.
Reading the box I am slightly confused by the fact that it states that it contains '100% recycled fibre'. However they are not marketed as recycled and in fact Tesco do sell another box of tissues specifically branded as 'Recycled' but these costs £1.50. However I was not trying to buy recycled products and anyone wanting to know more details about this should contact Tesco directly - their Facebook page is good for having queries answered.
These are a nice large box of tissues which are handy to have around the home or in the car. Even if you use two or three together they will still work out as good value - and after all they are only thrown away anyway.
These are branded as 'face tissues' so you can obviously use them to remove make up if you wish. Personally I prefer to use the cotton pads but trying them out I found two together to work fine.
4 stars. Good value but a bit thin.
===Would I Recommend?===
As a household we seem to suffer from more than our fair share of colds as our toddlers regularly catch them and like to share! I like to have a box of tissues to hand in the lounge to wipe little noses or mop up any spills and these Tesco everyday value are great for this.
The box has been updated from the dooyoo photo above as the Tesco Value range has been rebranded as Everyday Value. The box is now more attractive with purple pictures of flowers, butterflies and make up items.
There is a large perforated oval in the top of the box which is easy to remove and gives you a large opening to remove the tissues from. Once opened I do find that the cardboard tends to rip where it isn't very strong.
In each box you get 225 2 ply facial tissue and the box has the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) logo on it which shows that the tissues are made from a responsible source.
The tissues aren't particularly soft to the touch and the 2 ply doesn't stay together that well but the tissues do an okay job if it's just a quick nose wipe. They tend to disintegrate if they get too wet so not really up to coping with a bad adult cold.
As well as using these tissues at home I also keep a box in my drawer at work, they are ideal for a quick nose wipe and then bin.
If these tissues accidentally get in with a load of washing then they make an awful mess as they don't hold together at all unlike more expensive tissues which will survive largely intact.
Price and availability
As a Tesco product they are available at Tesco groceries online and in Tesco stores. The box only costs 68p which is great value even if the quality isn't great.
Would I recommend?
Yes, although the quality isn't great these tissues are good to have to hand around the home or office and you are getting what you pay for.
In my car I always like to keep a box of tissue in my glove compartment. Nothing fancy or special as no-one will see the box but its just a necessity for me to have some tissues to hand in case of a sneeze, or my daughter making a mess everywhere or even sometimes to check the engine oil and other such random things! Obviously a box of kleenex would feel like a waste so when I spotted this box in Tesco for a cheap and cheerful 60p or so, and it looked right up my street!
The tissues come in a thin cardboard box which is basic but I know that on the new package branding Tesco are sending out, the box is purple making it more colourful and less garish looking! The box explains there are 225 tissues inside and it is easy to open with a perforated oval opening on top where you can pull the tissues out. Pulling the tissues out is easy, but don't expect a posh design where you pull out and the next protrudes also so as to be available to reach for! This is one of those boxes where I have to dip my fingers in and pull them out individually as they lay quite flat. Nevertheless this is still easy to do.
The tissues are quite thin so perhaps not ideal for any heavy duty cleaning or wiping, but as these stay in the car they are really only used for wiping my little one's face and hands after perhaps eating some fruit or if she has a runny nose, they give a quick wipe. They also do the job well for blowig my big grown up nose and do not fall apart and disintegrate at the first sign of moisture like some tissues I've had in the past! The tissues are soft and whilst they are not extremely delicate and quilted, for basic tissues they do not irritate or scratch and have been perfect to use.
Overall these are basic tissues, no frills or fancy-ness and are thin but for me they do the job. The box does hideously scream "basic" with its plain white design and value border but I am not too bothered as they stay hidden in my car. I would definitely recommendnl these to anyone wanting some simple and effective tissues at a low price and are still fairly good quality.
Shops own brands of facial tissues can be quite nice. They are really cheap to buy if you use a lot of them and want to keep a box handy around the home. My little grandchildren often have runny noses and recently my grandson came to stay over night and he woke up during the night with a runny nose, so I reached for these tissues.
The tissues come in a very basic cardboard box, the box has an oval shape hole at the top of the box. Inside the tissues are a white colour and neatly folded. They are really easy to pull out of the box too, one by one and not a whole lot of tissues coming out at the same time.
They are a decent size and are rectangle shape. They measure approximately 5 inches x 7 inches. They are 2 ply tissues and there are 2 tissues together, which can be easily parted if you are wanting to split them for using for craft days etc. I often use tissues for craft days and make things with my grandson.
They are fairly soft and not too rough as I have found some other cheaper brands tend to be, these are not the best softness by no means but they are not bad for the cheap price in my opinion. I think if you just want to use them for a mild cold, they are really nice ones but if you have to continually use them for a really heavy cold or flu, they would make the nose really sore. I wouldn't recommend using them for heavier colds etc.
There are 100 tissues in the box, I think this amount is really good value for money. They only cost just 68p for this huge amount. So if you are wanting a lot of tissues, I think these are a really good buy for all the family to use. Children often need just a quick wipe and these are ideal for that purpose.
They absorb really well, they are ideal for just keeping a few handy in the bedroom if you wake during the night and need to wipe your nose. They have no smell to them and no added fragrance ingredient, just a plain, white tissue with no fancy pattern on them. I don't mind them being plain looking so long as they work well and soft enough. These tick all the boxes for general use in my household.
Like I said earlier in my review I use these for craft days. They are really easy to scrunch together and stick onto cardboard etc with glue and make a picture. We recently used them to make clouds in the sky and they worked well too.
I highly recommend these tissues, they are really cheap and affordable if you have a lot of children, you just cannot go wrong for the price and they are good quality too and excellent value for money in my opinion. So long as you don't use them for a heavy cold etc, and not rub too hard continually, these are absolutely fine tissues. If you are looking to drop a brand and want to buy a nice box of tissues, these are good enough to give a go. It is surprising how nice these are and once you have tried them and compared them to the brand above the Value range, you won't see too much difference in the quality. Just a little less softer.
My grandson's nose didn't become sore using these for a day and they were nice ones for him to use on his more delicate skin. I find they don't irritate the skin if used carefully and not too heavy handed. Obviously if you press and rub too hard, they will make the skin sore but that is the same with any tissues. I am happy to wipe my grandson's nose with these but not if he has a heavy cold because I like to make sure he doesn't have a sore face, but for general wiping, they are absolutely fine on his skin.
I have been buying these for quite a long time and have found they are really suitable for placing inside the bottom of some of my baskets which I hold some of my cosmetics. I find they are nice to keep the bottom of the boxes nice and clean. Sometimes little traces of power fall into the bottom of the baskets, I find I just have to pull a dirty tissue from the basket and replace it with another one and not have to clean the base so often, this saves a lot of time and also a nice clean box.
I will continue to buy these tissues, they absorb really well and are excellent for myself and my family. They are nice ones and worth every penny. For a throw away tissue and for just a general wipe, these are ideal.
Also on Ciao under my username pinky50.
I give them 5 stars.
Thank you for reading my review and I hope it has been of some help.
Unfortunately with cold weather comes a runny nose and for me, I find I have tissues everywhere. In my pockets, in my hand, rolled up my sleeve, I use tissues as if I manufacture tons of them. I find it hard to keep buying different kinds of tissues as it turns out to be quite expensive, toilet rolls kitchen towels and pocket tissues, I don't think I can afford to buy any other. Recently I had a very bad flu and I usually just keep a toilet roll in my bed with me but I noticed that It was really hurting my nose. It scratched and it peeled the sides of my nose and just cleaning my nose became a pain. It came to the point where I didn't want to unblock my nose by blowing it out, instead I gave myself a headache by sniffing continuously. I then had to venture out and get the cheapest tissue box I could and I bought Tesco's everyday value facial tissues.
The tissues come in a thin cardboard box which is cream in colour and have purple printing over them. Very basic. Also there is an oval opening from which you pull the tissues out. Nothing appealing.
They cost me just over 60 pence and one box has 225 tissues in it. That is quite a lot of tissues if you think about it but when I got home, I discovered the tissue itself is so thin, if you have the flu you have to pull two out to blow your nose, if not more! It is a little disappointing but what can you really expect for such a small price.
I think these tissues are perfect for wiping the crumbs from your mouth but for blowing your nose or cleaning anything is definitely a big no. They are hardly absorbent and I think it is better to invest in one good box of tissues rather than using 2-3 tissues at a time and buying them over and over again. I regret buying them but I have to mention they are not rough at all. They are quite soft so when I was cleaning my nose, they were gentle on my skin. Given the agony I was in, just a soft tissue was enough to comfort me for a while. So I wasn't completely disappointed. But if you ask me, don't buy them for any other reason than to wipe your hands clean. They are not made to soak up liquids of any sort!
I always seem to be blowing my nose, I think I just have a naturally runny nose as I don't feel like I have a cold most of the time so I always buy boxes of tissues to keep in my room and packets of pocket tissues to take to university and work with me.
I was in Tesco recently and had run out of tissues. I am a bit tight, so didn't want to buy really expensive ones, so I thought I would try their Everyday Value Tissues.
They come in a rectangular cardboard box with small purple flower, butterfly and lip icons all over the sides of the box. The colour of the cardboard box is just off white. The box contains 225 2 ply tissues that are made from FSC certified material from responsible sources. I paid 68p for this box of tissues which is a price i'm happy to pay.
The tissues themselves are a reasonable size, but although they are 2 ply, I would have expected them to be slightly thicker than they are. I have found that I have to fold them in half to blow my nose so that I don't put my finger through them. The tissues aren't as soft as more expensive brands, however they also aren't really scratchy like some of the other cheaper brands.
Even though the tissues are quite thin, they have lasted me quite a long time (around a month) and I still have half the box left. As a tissue, they function effectively, and do their job, so I would buy them again. But if a better quality box of tissues was on offer, I would opt for them first.
