The Body Shop Body Round Brush
Advantages: Softens and smoothes dry, bumpy skin, gets circulation going, good quality
Disadvantages: None that I can think of
I purchased The Body Shop round brush at the end of March, as I was going on holiday and my skin was not really looking at its best after the long winter months. Even though I was using various body scrubs and exfoliators whilst in the shower, I still felt that my skin was not as smooth and soft as it should be, so on a visit to the Body Shop I decided to purchase this round body brush, hoping that using it on a regular basis would make some difference.
The Body Shop round wooden brush costs £7 and it measures approximately 4 inches in diameter. The wood part, to which the cream coloured bristles are attached, is very smooth and has a slight shine to it. The round handle (on which the Body Shop logo is imprinted on) is a good size, making it easy to hold the brush whilst using it.
This brush is meant to be used on dry skin, by rubbing it over the body in small circular movements, starting from your ankles and working your way up. For best results, you are supposed to use the brush two or three a week. I tend to use this as I am running a bath or just before getting in the shower, for about five minutes at a time.
First time I used it, I thought that the bristles were a bit rough on my skin and so only used it on my legs, worried that if I used it on my top part I would end up quite sore. However, after a few uses you do tend to get used to it and it really doesn't seem as "rough" on the skin. This brush really does seem to get your circulation going as you can feel your skin slightly tingling for a while afterwards. Within a few days only, I noticed that my skin not only felt softer and smoother but it looked a lot brighter and healthier, if you get my drift. My opinion is that it certainly exfoliates better than other products, such as shower/bath scrubs.
I have had this brush for a few months now, and it is still in fab condition, none of the bristles have dropped out or bent. In the long run, I think you would definitely save yourself some pennies too, as you would not have to keep on buying other body scrubs (which never seem to last two minutes!). If you are looking for a good quality body brush at a reasonable price, I would definitely recommend the Body Shop one, as it is in my opinion an excellent exfoliator, the best I have ever used!
Summary: My skin has been left as smooth and soft as a baby's bottom
