The Body Shop Nail file
I was recently in The Body Shop with Little Miss as it seems suddenly to have become her shop of choice. One of my nails was a bit ragged so when buying some skin care products, I picked up this pack of nail files.
The shop assistant found them for me and was almost apologetic when she told me that they cost £1.50 but that there were two in the pack. I actually think this is a really good price for two nail files, as I usually spend more than this on just the one.
The nail files come in an open plastic case and the files can be easily slid out of this packet. There is some information on the back of the packet, which tells me that the product is against animal testing and is also 100% made from wood from well managed forests.
When I get them out of the packet, I notice that the files are actually quite slim and certainly a lot thinner than some of the nail files I have used. The pale blue files have the words Body Shop written along the length just in case I forget where I have bought them. They are perfectly straight along the length of the nail files but are curved at each end. One of the sides of the file is coarse so that the nails can be shaped whilst the other side is much finer for smoothing the nails.
To use, the filer should be held at an angle, and the nails filed into shape using smooth sweeping strokes, as often as required. After this is done, then the nails should be smoothed using the fine side. The nail files are a nice length and whilst they are not curved along the length of the files, they are easy to use and to file the nails in one direction.
The files are reasonably priced, easy to use and do the job. I do find the thicker files easier to hold but this didn't detract from their effectiveness and is a matter of personal taste.
I like the fact that they come in a little plastic packet as this keeps them clean and undamaged when thrown into my bag.
Available online at www.bodyshop.co.uk and in store. Not the best I have ever used but definitely recommended.
