A fab blusher/bronzer brush that will last, just a bit expensive but after all it is cruelty free

I love make up, and I love make up brushes - especially when they are new and this brush especially, so when I saw it in The Body Shop I knew I had to have it, I actually wanted this and another product but as usual I refused to spend the full amount on the item being the poor student that I am. Thing is I had my heart set on this a little bit so knew at some point, somehow I would have to get it - else I'd always be hankering after it!

      ~*~ The Body Shop ~*~

The Body Shop is a cosmetic and body care store that has been around since 1976, and currently has over 2000 stores across over 60 countries - so you'll not be short of places to find one if you're on holiday! A company, that is cruelty free, natural and environmentally minded - you'll be hard to miss one on the high street, because even the smell of the place just from walking past it makes you want to go in. From body butters, to perfumes, cosmetics, they have some of the best hand cream I've ever used - and you can get yourself a mini make over in there for the price of an item of make-up, what more can you ask for!

      ~*~ Kabuki Brush ~*~

This brush is advertised in the shop to work with the Dazzling Rocks, that will be one of my next reviews, in store they are paired together, and there is a package in store that you can get both the dazzling rocks and the brush for £20 at the minute meaning a saving of £10 from them both - which is worth having if you want a good bronzer brush and well some good bronzer, but that's for another review!

Looking on The Body Shop's website it seems this brush is actually a limited edition, chubby brush for use to create a fine even dusting of powder to face and body. This brush is about two inches tall at the most and is definitely chubby as the description on the site tells us. It has a thick metal handle, which even tells you what it is on the back, with The Body Shop logo on the front so you know where it's come from! As a slanted brush the bristles are slanted and vary in length across the brush to be able to give you that good fine line of powder that looks expertly applied. The bristles come to a tapered point at the end where the bristles are longer, looks and feels like an expensive brush, the bristles actually look like they've been crimped on the brush so they are very fluffy and the brush is really thick and brilliant quality. It is brown in colour at the bottom of the bristles and goes to a black tinge at the top, with a black handle - and the top of the bristles are so soft as well, it's unbelievable - I love it as a brush for my face and body. My goddaughter came over the day it arrived and is nearly 4 and was obsessed with how soft the brush is, it's that nice!

Application, is brilliant - a quick brush over my dazzling rocks and the brush has a good covering of the powder to apply to my skin. Considering the size of the brush if you are using it to apply in a particular area, it's actually quite accurate - which impressed me. It gives an even coverage too, I find if I use it on my cheek bones that I get a graduated amount of bronzer which makes my cheek bones look more pronounced which looks much better than my normal blusher brush. To apply to chest area and areas that may be on show that you want to put, it is a quick and easy application, because it's a wide brush, just whack it on and you're good to go!

Cleaning this brush is a doddle too, admittedly I've only ever used warm water on my brush as I'm trying to maintain its soft bristles - but because I don't use it every day once a week washing is enough and a few months down the line we still have soft bristles, not had any fall out and to be honest the brush still looks like it did when I bought it! So for bronzer or even a blusher brush, it is brilliant, and it seems to be lasting the test of time where other similar brushes have failed - admittedly it is expensive but I think it's worth it - it has The Body Shop quality, and as always it's cruelty free!

My only complaint is it doesn't come with a protective case!

      ~*~ Price and Availability ~*~

It is available from The Body Shop for £16 a brush, or they did have this and the dazzling rocks for £20 in a packet... I however got mine from eBay for £4.99 and there is a few online now as the website has sold out - so you might not get it for Christmas but it's a good brush for all year round!
