I remember when I was little my mum always used to comb or brush conditioner through my long wavy thick hair to make it easier when it came to brushing it through, today its something I still do and am currently using the TRESemme Detangle Comb which I bought from my local Superdrug.
The detangling comb comes with very little packaging just a small black card label around it which is attached by a couple of plastic ties, the label states that this is a TRESemme styling product that is used by professionals, it also informs the customer that this detangle comb is suitable for all hair lengths.
Removing the detangle comb is easy you just need to snip the plastic ties with a pair of scissors.
The TRESemme Detangle Comb is a dark grey/black colour, the handle displays the TRESemme logo in white writing. The handle is a nice shape, slightly curved making it easy to hold. The detangle comb has 24 teeth which are widely spaced, TRESemme claim these widely spaced teeth are "ideal for distributing styling products through the hair".
The comb can be used on wet or dry hair but personally I only ever use it on wet hair. After I've shampooed my hair I apply conditioner and after massaging it into my hair I always comb the conditioner through. This is where the TRESemme detangle comb comes into its own, the widely space teeth really do glide through my hair making sure all my hair is thoroughly coated with conditioner. The ends of the teeth are shaped so that they detangle the hair but don't snag it or scrape your skin.
As I mentioned I do have very thick wavy long hair which I straighten on a daily basis, its also hi lighted with bleach so its important that the conditioner I use coats all my hair from root to tip. Any tangles are gently pulled through without damaging my hair meaning by the time I've rinsed my hair its really easy to brush.
As I mentioned this comb can be used on dry hair too and if your hair gets a bit knotty overnight then a product like this would certainly help, I'm lucky in that my hair never seems to snag much overnight so really I have only ever had cause to use it on wet hair.
Whatever the length of your hair the TRESemme Detangle Comb is ideal for combing conditioner through your hair, I bought mine from Superdrug where it is currently has £1.00 off and is selling for £2.09.
After recently buying a really good brush from the brand that is Tresemme at a bargain price in Boots when I found myself in the store one day hiding from the rain outside I had another little mooch instore and decided to grab this detangling comb for my handbag and it cost me only £2.99 which I thought was a great buy for a branded comb such as this.
The Comb Itself:
The comb is black and feels rubberised and is lightweight and long toothed and wide set. Its quite a big comb this with a curved and thinnish handle, comfy to hold and for me is a great styling comb. It glides through damp/wet hair say to distribute conditioner or products such as gel or mousse and the likes but equally detangling and great on dry hair and it looks nice and stylish and use to which is a bonus!
According to the small amount of packaging this comes in this is suitable for hair types and lengths and I agree with that and can't see a reason it wouldn't be.
Any loose hairs that collect in this are easily pulled out of it and disposed of, its rinse clean and all in all this is quite simply a great, robust and nice looking comb that I am very pleased that I invested in.
Available from all good chemists and as I said earlier my comb came from Boots.

I've got very long, thick hair which becomes tangled and knotted ridiculously easily and it is especially knotty in the mornings as I toss and turn in my sleep.
As my hair knots so badly, I find that it is important to brush it through with a sturdy brush, else the bristles become damaged. I currently use a tangle teezer to get the worse out and then I use this comb from Tresemme to get any stubborn knots out. I would never attempt to use this without brushing my hair through first though as the teeth are so strong and sturdy that if you used enough force it would literally rip the knot as well as strands of hair straight out, which I obviously want to avoid!
This is a decent sized comb at around ten inches long and it is a little bigger than my others. It has a sleek, modern design and a long handle which is quite flat meaning it fits perfectly into my brush holder. The handle is a little thick, especially at the bottom but it curves in slightly in the middle part of the handle meaning I am able to grip and hold it securely. I really like that the handle is one that you can grip, rather than just a piece of plastic attatched to the side of the teeth.
There is the white Tresemme logo on the handle which has the brand name and the words 'used by professionals' written underneath. The comb has a generous twenty five long, thick teeth which like the rest of the comb are made of sturdy, glossy black plastic. The teeth are spaced out nicely with a 1cm (ish) gap between each one. The teeth are slightly pointed but have blunt nibs, meaning they are not sharp or painful against my scalp and they will not do any damage if they come into contact with it.
The comb comes attatched to a piece of very thin black plastic. This needs cutting off as it is attatched by a little plastic loop. The comb also has a glossy piece of paper which acts as a label wrapped around the middle of it which has the brand and product name (detangling comb) and it states that the comb is suitable for all hair lengths. The label does not leave any sticky residue on the comb and it can be reycled.
Using the comb is really easy and it helps achieve tangle-free hair within minutes. I simply brush my hair through with my tangle teezer and then run the comb through my hair. When I hit a knot I work the brush through it gently and the knot comes out with the comb. This is not particullary painful and the comb does not pull out any unknotted hair. It only pulls out very stubborn knots and with hair that is simply a little tangled, it does a great job in smoothing it out and taming it.
This is fine to use when I am straightening or blow drying my hair and I find that it works well with both dry and wet hair. The brush itself is easy to clean and I am able to simply pull any bits of hair out of it, and I wash mine every couple of weeks to ensure that it is nice and clean. With an RRP of £5.98, this isn't the cheapest comb available, but the quality does show and it's very durable as well as very effective in detangling my hair quickly - I can't fault it really. Overall, highly reccommended.
My daughter didnt have any hair for such a long time but when it appeared it grew so quickly and she gets awful bed hair so this was a life saver for me. The price isnt too bad as for an ordinary hair brush it will cost about £5.50 so this one being priced at £5.98 (including shipping if you buy offline) its a good deal as this one glides through tangled hair and leaves it feeling great. I got mine from ebay for £3.99 plus £1.50 standard delivery. I do it quite gently which can take time but it leaves her hair soft and smooth. It has widely spaced teeth which I think would mean it can be used on all different hair types.I use it for myself aswell so that way I really get my moneys worth as I didnt have to buy myself a new brush when the handle snapped off my old one. I paid what i thought was a bargain price for my old comb and it turned out to be poor quality and didnt last long, in this case im glad i spent abit extra to get this comb as tresemme have excelled. I use it to put leave in hair conditioner on as the wide spaced teeth mean it can be used on wet or dry hair. Ive found it distributes the conditioner evenly through my hair which is fantastic so I dont miss loads of hair.
To summarise its slightly more costly than other combs but is well made good quality comb that does a fantastic job of detangling both our hair whether wet or dry.
