~ Tresemme Heat Retain Hair Brush ~
When I finished my hair dressing course in college I had a whole load of different brushes that I had bought over the course. My favourite were the heat up barrel brushes but over the years they got misplaced or broken, and that is how I came to purchase this Tresemme brush. I am pretty sure it was bought in either Boots or Superdrug and it was probably quite cheap too. I wouldn't have paid over a fiver anyway!
These brushes are great for adding volume into the roots of your hair when blow drying as they hold the heat from the hair dryer and really lift and volumise the roots. I tend to towel dry my hair, then give a quick blast with the hair dryer with my head upside down and when it's still slightly damp I then blow dry it section by section using this brush. It has thin sparse bristles with the metal barrel, it's the barrel that retains the heat allowing you to really lift the hair from the roots upwards and over the barrel, while holding the hair dryer as you move along. I tend to blow dry the same section around 2/3 times just to ensure it is all dry and that the volume is where I want it. You can also curl you hair under with this brush or even flick it out if you so wish.
I finish off my hair with a large paddle brush as it is pretty long and I find this easier.
I use this brush on a regular basis, and use it when drying other peoples hair too as I find it works just great.

Up until a few weeks ago, I only owned two hair brushes and one of them was a mini one for my handbag, so i was on the look out for a new one to add to my collection. When I was shopping on the Superdrug website this Tresemme hairbrush caught my eye as it was on sale for only 50p, the original price being £4.99 It was immediately added to my shopping basket and arrived with the rest of my order a few days later.
The brush comes packaged in a sleek black cardboard slip. The brush itself is black with a pink barral. The bristles are black and well spaced, these bristles work really well at keeping hair in place whilst styling. The specially shaped handle is soft and nice to touch. "Tresseme - Used by professionals" is written in white at the bottom of the handle. The neck is ribbed making it easy and comfortable to grip, even when hands are wet. The brush is lightweight.
Tresemme claims that brush has been specifically designed to give 24 hour body and volume to the hair which should give a fuller thicker looking style. Due to the "Unique concave barrel" It is very easy to get right to the roots and add that extra lift. The barrel is ceramic and therefore retains heat for longer than a regular brush, this means that the time spent drying the hair is significantly reduced. Furthermore, the tourmaline barrel helps reduce static and frizz as it releases negative ions. I have found this brush to be versatile, not only does it give long lasting volume as promised but it also works well at straightening and smoothing my hair. Since using this brush I have noticed that my hair is less frizzy at the ends and less fly-away. Whether I am styling my hair or just brushing it straight it leaves my hair looking good with a nice finish. It works well at volumising my hair, althought i think claiming this lasts 24 hours is a bit over the top.
Some brush care guides are given on the packaging which suggest using a comb to remove any loose hairs from around the brush and washing the brush with shampoo and water to remove any styling residues. It is also advised to keep the brush out of direct sunlight. Following these instructions means the brush should last me quiet sometime.
I must say I have been very impressed by this hairbrush and think I would have been happy paying full price for it, so as you can imagine I am more then happy that I got it at such a bargain price. I would recommend this brush to anyone as it has already become a firm favorite with me.
