Polycotton Fitted Sheet - Double.
by thriftygiftyisme
=Polycotton Fitted Sheet - Double - I have the White One=
I have been slowly replacing the bedding in the house, trying to do one bed at a time, and I have been purchased bedding from Argos, before and had no problems so I thought that I would get some sheets/.
=Argos Colour Match=
There are about 14 colours in ... the colour match bedding range, and you can match literally any room in the house with items from the colou match range.
=Fitted Double Sheet=
I prefer fitted sheets, as I am a fidget at night, so with fitted sheet it holds in place.
=Colour and Price=
I wanted a white sheet, although there were some amazing colours, and I paid £6.99 for a double fitted sheet.
=Package=
The sheet was wrapped in a cellophane wrapper, and inside that was a cardboard band which says colour match and the colour you have chosen, then on the front are the sticky labels with the Argos catalogue numbers on them.
=The Sheet=
The sheet is made from 50% cotton and 50% polyester. You can wash the sheet at 40C, tumble dried, and ironed as well. Each of the four corners have an elasticated finish which hold the sheet into place.
=Measurements=.
The size of the sheet is 135cm x 190cm x 25cm.
=Quality=
I have to say that I was impressed with the sheet, it was soft, well made in terms of the fit with the elastic, all the edges were neatly sewn in, and soft to the touch. I washed the sheet before I put it on the bed as I do with all new bedding, and it came up soft.
=Fit=
I have a blanket on the bed between the matress and the sheet, and I was wondering whether I would need to remove the blanket, but no problem at all, the sheet fitted perfectly, the corners held in and there no stretching trying to tug at corners.
=Use=
I have 3 sets of quilt covers on the go at the moment, so when there washed the sheet and quilt cover gets folded up into a pillow case, so when I have to strip the beds there all ready for use. I have had this white sheet for about 12 months, and it is still as good as the day I brought it, no bubbling, no thin patches, and the elastic is as tight fit as the day that I first put it on the bed.
=Further Purchases=
I have been so impressed with the range that I have purchases further sheets, pillow cases, which gets used regularly and also i have brought a set of the quilt covers for each of the beds, and these are full matching colours from sheets to quilts.
=Value for money=
Not just the sheet but the whole range is value for money, and I would highly recommend them, whether your want white or you want to add some brightness to the room from funky fushia, even Black, there is a colour to suit everyone.
=Would I recommend=
A great bug yes from me. Read the complete review |

Argos Value Range Cosy Sleeper 13.5 Tog Duvet
by thriftygiftyisme
Argos Value Range Cosy Sleeper 13.5 Tog Duvet
I recently had to get another quit for my daughters bed, as bless her she had been poorly with a sickness bug and using the spare quilt, as over the winter, I put a double quilt on her bed as she is a fidget.
=Argos to the rescue=
As one of the quilts we had managed to ... get machine washed at home, the other wouldn't fit it, and looking at taking it to the laundry it was as cost effective if not cheaper to buy a new quilt and chuck that one out.
=13.5tog=
I got a 13.5tog, as her bed is right by the radiator, so her room is always warm.
=Value Range=
This quilt was from the Argos value range, - the plastic wrapping is the blue and white packaging of the value range, and it explains about the quilt, that it is a double 13.5tog.
=Pre-Use=
When you purchase the duvet, it is wrapped into a cylinder shape, as soon as you open the packaging the duvet immediately starts fluffing up, and plumps nicely.
The filling is a polyester filling, and this is evenly distrubed throughtout the quilt.
The cover is 100% spun bonded non-woven polypropylene cover. (The paper like feel).
=Washing=
The quilt can be machine washed, and this is up to 60C. But drying is line dry only.
=Price=
The price for this quilt was £10.99, which is excellent value.
=Alternative Options=
The value range is available in Single, Double and King-size quilts, the tog ratings are
4.5tog - The lightest duvet - Summer weight through to 15tog which is Winter weight quilt.
=Fitting=
The quilt fitted perfectly in the double covers that we have at home, we had no problems fitting the quilt in, no big gaps either side in the quilt cover.
=Comfort=
My daughter found the quilt to be comfortable and has kept her warm, I have also tried the quilt in her bed, as when she has a sleepover, her and her friend have my double bed, and I move into her room with the single bed, but I always make sure I have a double quilt for comfort. Its comfortable, kept me warm.
=Washing=
We did manage to get this quilt into the washing machine, we have a 7kg tub machine, it washed perfectly, line dried it, then hang it over the clothes horse in the dining room, it took about 3 days to fully dry out.
=Price=
In all honestly at these prices, the plan is to change the other quilts to the value quits at this price, there just as easy to use for 6 months, then replace. Cheaper than paying laundrette prices.
=Would I recommend=
I would highly recommend these quilts.
=My Niggle=
The only niggle that I have about the quilts is the propeline cover - its the paper feel - once youve got use to it, there ok, just feel funny at first. I would prefer to pay £1 or so extra and have a cotton cover.
This type of cover is not just confined to value quilts, its this cover that stops the quilts being tumble dryable Read the complete review |

Argos Value Range Fitted Sheet
by hopey123
After reading a review on this site the end of last year I went and purchased some of these sheets from Argos.
I initially brought two single sheets from the Argos Value range, they cost just £2.83 each which I found extremely cheap. After a month of having used and washed the single ones I returned and got two double sheets ... also at a low price of £3.93 each. If you intend to purchase some it may be an idea to reserve them on line as I had to wait a few weeks before any were in stock so as soon as they were I reserved them as they are obviously popular.
These sheets come in one colour of cream which is fine with me as will go with any duvets sets really without clashing. Each sheet is fitted making them stay on the bed easily. Each corner of the sheet is elasticated and easy to put on the bed, plenty of room for them to fit over the corners and pull down to just under the mattress. I like to be able to make the beds quickly in the mornings which just involves throwing the duvets back over, my son's previous fitted sheets used to end up creeping off the corners and becoming all messed up during the night but these sheets stay put. It will Fit a mattress depth up to 25cm.
I find the quality surprisingly good for such a cheap product. The sheets themselves do not feel thin but a good quality cotton. Made from 52% polyester and 48% cotton they have been washed many times already and have kept the quality too and not started to fade or thin at all. I wash them on a 30oc wash. I don't iron sheets but even if I did these don't become creased when washed and dried.
Totally recommend these sheets whether you are money saving or after a bargain these sheets will give you good quality.
I will next try the pillow cases. Read the complete review |
