Argos Reversible Double Duvet Set
by purplekimmy
I bought one of these sets for my daughter just before she decided she wanted her bedroom redecorated, so the colours no longer match but she still loves having this duvet cover put on. I actually bought these on a deal of buy one get one half price so she has two of them now.
I bought her the shocking pink and bright orange ... set, one side is a very bright orange and the other an equally dazzling pink. The pillow cases are the same bright colours and the quilt set is fastened with poppers. Although we have two sets, they do get changed regularly, we have to have a rotation cycle as having the two sets on, she doesn't want it to look like she never changes her duvet covers!!
I am very pleased with these sets, although the full price I paid was £14.99 and I got the second set for half price, they have lasted very well. The colours are as bright and in your face as when they were brand new, they haven't faded at all. One set however, a few of the poppers at the bottom have come off one side, so they now have to be left open. This isn't a great problem and it is only one set that has done this, this may be down to overzealous ripping of the bottom to remove the duvet than any fault with the making of the duvet cover. They are soft and need very little ironing which is great, as that is my least favourite chore. They go through the machine no problems and do not run in colour, they also are great for hand washing which I do a lot. When I hang them out on the line, the creases drop right out, such a blessing!
I know these come in other colours and I will defiantly be buying more in the future, Read the complete review |

Polycotton Fitted Sheet - Double.
by purplekimmy
I had a couple of white fitted sheets that were quite old; they had become more of a grey than white. I knew it was defiantly time to buy more sheets.
I have bought a couple of these fitted double sheets, as well as single sized ones for my children's beds. I love fitted sheets because they hug the corners of your bed and no ... matter how much you fidget (this isn't a dig at my fiancé honest!!) they do not come off. I have yet to manage to work out the proper way to fold a fitted sheet though, I tend to give it a good shot then just store it away in a cupboard, I also do not bother to iron sheets as no one is going to be scoring me on how flat and creaseless my sheets are. These do claim to need a minimum of ironing which is always good in my book as I hate ironing with a passion. I have bought these sheets from Debenhams; I don't often buy from there as I find them wildly expensive, I also find a lot of their clothes very dated but this isn't a review of Debenhams.
I paid £9 for my double sheets and they were not packaged in any amazing way. There was a plastic wrapping bag with the sheet itself wrapped around a cardboard square to keep the shape. I wouldn't expect any other kind of wrapping, this works with sheets. The corners are elasticated and these have not loosened any after use or washing. I am pleased about this as some of the cheaper versions can become quite slack and no better than a normal flat sheet. You can machine wash and tumble dry these sheets, I don't use a tumble dryer so cannot comment on this but putting it through the washing machine or washing by hand it fine.
The sheets themselves are smooth and there is no bobbling or fading that I have noticed. I have these in pink and cream and they are as good as they were when I bought them. For the price, these have been remarkably good, I would defiantly buy these again. Read the complete review |

Homeliving Ribbed Fleece Blanket
by k2705
With 2 cats in the house, one of which has long fur and has grown her winter coat so she now looks like a fluffy puff ball on legs, throws on the furniture and bed are an essential. We recently had a B&M Bargains store opened up not far from us and whilst browsing around one day I noticed they had fleece blankets which were the ... perfect colour match for my bedroom, I always carry small pieces of wallpaper and colour charts around with me in my bag so I knew they would perfect for the bottom of our bed where my 2 girls sleep every night.
The ribbed fleece blankets didn't come with any real packaging they were just folded up and tied with contrasting ribbon, they cost just £2.99 each and are available in several colour choices including pink, lilac, green, cream and brown.
The blankets measure approximately 125cm's x 150cm's, they don't have any fancy edging, tassels etc they are just hemmed and stitched, the material is described as fleece and for the money really does feel soft and warm. They have a slight ridged pattern to them just taking the plainness off.
I actually bought 2 of these, as they were going to be used essentially as throws for the cats to lay on I knew they would be in the wash a lot, I just pop them in the machine on a regular 40oC wash and they come up like new. They've been washed many times already and so far haven't bobbled at all, the only damage to one of them is from vigorous padding by one of my girls.
Ive been really pleased with these blankets, although plain they look nice laid across the bottom of the bed and are much easier to wash and dry when my girls put muddy paw prints on them, it saves having to change the duvet cover every day.
If you use fleece blankets or throws for whatever reason or just like a nice warm blanket to tuck your feet under then these are ideal. They are plain and basic but in my opinion are well worth the money. They come in a lot of different colours and are a good way of giving a room a quick burst of colour for a small price. I have found them to be hard wearing and would certainly not hesitate to recomend them to anyone. Read the complete review |
