Zap Ben 10 Single Duvet Set
by hot_orange We have a Ben 10 daft five year old in our house and so last year bought him this duvet set. For those of you that don't know who Ben 10 is - Ben is an ordinary boy who finds an omnitrix (a special watch thing) that allows him to become all sorts of aliens. Most boys between 4 and 6 will love Ben 10 (and Ben 10 Alien Force and Ben 10 ... Ultimate Alien.....) The duvet set consists of a standard size single duvet cover and one pillow case. The duvet cover has 2 designs - one on each side. On one you have a big picture of Ben 10 running, about to 'go hero' with his omnitrix. At the bottom is a fairly large Ben 10 logo and Ben himself is surrounded by silhouettes of Four Arms, Ripjaws, Upgrade, XLR8, Ghostfreak, Greymatter, Stinkfly and Heatblast - this is old school Ben 10 and is the original aliens (not Alien Force or Ultimate Alien). On the reverse side is a computer chip sort of design (very hard to describe!!). The pillow case has a massive Ben 10 logo on one side and the torso and head of Ben to match the duvet cover on the other. Both duvet cover and pillow case are very green!!!!!!! My son loves them and despite falling in and out of love with Ben over the year or so since we bought them, he is still happy having them on his bed and loves the green colour (he is a boy and 5 - he would!). I'm more than happy with them too. After one or two washes the colour stopped running and so they can now go in with other items without fear of everything else coming out green - I wash it on 40 degrees which does make some other duvet covers dye run. They are really easy to iron and I can get them crease free really easily. Best of all they have lasted really well. Each week we alternate this duvet set with a Star wars one and so it gets washed fairly frequently and it is still in really good condition and won't need replaced anytime soon. I still hate the colour of it but have learned to ignore that. My one negative point and why I have only given 4 stars and not 5 is that it is perhaps dated now - so many new Ben 10 series and aliens have come along since we bought this that it might not be up to date enough for some kids. My son still likes the old aliens and so is still happy with the set but some might want a newer version. Overall a great duvet set for all Ben 10 fans out there. Zap Ben 10 Single Duvet Set
by bishopview For christmas my little soldier was adamant he wanted a ben 10 bedroom. I found this extrodinary as he has never once watched the ben 10 cartoon on tv. He loves ben 10 as he is a dedicated follower of fashion and all the boys in his class love ben 10 so he does too!!! Basically Ben 10 is a action super hero tv cartoon ... character. He is quite a young boy which I think is the added appeal to young lads across the country as they find they can relate to his character. I agreed to him having his room done out as I was quite pleased with the design of the duvet set and curtains. The main background colour on the duvet cover is lime green. I like this as I think it brightens up a childs bedroom. The Ben 10 logo is designed in white lettering which against the lime green background colour is very striking. On the one side of the duvet cover is this lime green background with a full size illistration of Ben 10 in the foreground. Ben 10 is very boy orientated. It is very boys dream to be as cool as the super hero emblazoned across his duvet. On the reverse side of the duvet is a darker spinich colour green background with smaller motif patterns of ben 10 symbols in the foreground. This sideis by no means as bright, vibrant or striking as the side with ben 10 on. However it does make an occasional change. I bought one duvet set from Shaws curtain and drapery store. I paid a very reasonable £7 for the single duvet cover and pillow case set. I also bought another set from Amazon for approx £10. Both sets are identical but I bought two sets so one could be on the bed whilst the other is being washed. I have washed the both sets a couple of times since Christmas and I have to say I am very unhappy with the fading of the colours in this duvet set. The vibrant greens are no longer vibrant and are really fading. I find this unacceptable as I have only washed them a couple of times. The bedding does by no means look shabby, but it does not have the same dramatic impact it had when first bought. My son doesnt seem to notice the difference. But I certainly have. The other thing that really irritates me is the fact that the duvet cover is now a totally different shade of green to the vibrant curtains. I am really gutted in the quality of this product. Yes the duvet is well put together in regards to the sewing of the product. There is no gaps in the stitching. Also the buttons at the bottom of the duvet are strong and secure. The real let down is the quality of the colours used as they do not have good staying power. I think this reflects badly on the makers of Ben 10 products. I think it shows that they are less caring regarding the quality as they are sure parents will continue to buy these products for their children as they are very popular. Obviously this is just my view and experience. But i am very disappointed and now that I have shelled out a small fortune on a ben 10 wardrobe, curtains, rug, chair and various other bits and bobs I will have no choice but to purchase another ben 10 duvet cover!!! Zap WWE Raw vs Smackdown Duvet Set
by scotlandizdabest Ok, an odd review from myself but this is such a popular product so it is definately worth reviewing! If you have boys then you will almost definately have heard of WWE. This review was also co-written by my brothers who have been very honest about this product. At only 8 and 11 they could become future dooyooers! Enjoy... Bit ... About WWE WWE has been around for a good couple of years. If you have boys, teenagers or even big kids (AKA the men that never grow up!), then you will probibly have come across this brand. WWE stands for World Wrestling Entertainment, a brand that has made itself so famous by exciting story lines, talented wrestling and good looking men! This will appeal much more to boys than girls however not to say the girls are missing out. I have been a fan since I was little and so have all my siblings. So what a better thing to get one of my brothers for Christmas is a duvet cover with their favourite WWE super stars on it. Where To Get It We got our duvet cover from Argos. We just reserved it and picked it up, and it was really easy to do it. It is in the catalogue and is not in as an 'Extra' item so should be avaliable in all stores. You can get it from various places including directly from: http://www.wweeuroshop.com/ You can also get it from Amazon and many other shops which sell bedding, especially if there is a childrens section. Ebay also does them for a knock down price, however make sure you try and avoid the fakes as they tend to be bad quality. This is only avaliable in single size, and cannot be bought in double or kingsize. We bought ours for £13.99 which we felt was a fair price to pay. I've seen some go up to around £25 which is way to much. You will get a good deal if you pay no more than £20 for this product. You have to remember it is branded which puts the price up, it is the same with others such as Disney and Warner Bros. Getting It On It is really packed tight but was easy to unpack. It has a big picture of some of the superstars with WWE hologram (which they ended up keeping and pinning up!) to make it that extra bit special. You have to iron it first as it has some quite deep imprinted creases from the folding. This is a little annoying but is bareable. It is buttoned at the ends and after ironing was fairly pain free to put on. Unlike the last duvet he had, which started to thread and fall apart, this one looked very good quality with neat stitching. After a pretty painless pulling over duvet we were able to sit back and marvell at it. 'Cool Factor' Well I have some direct quotes from a 8 and 11 year old here, so this could be one of the most reliable reviews you may ever read! It has Rey Mysterio, a mexican wrestler, on the pillow part which is good as he is 'cool' and a good wrestler. All I know that he is a really muscley guy with a cool mask. You have all the most famous wrestler from the "Raw" brand range. The WWE is split into 'Smackdown' 'Raw' and 'WCW' which different superstars compete in. The Raw superstars on this is John Cena (One of my favourites), Kane, Shawn Micheals and Batista. These names might not mean anything to you, but to a WWE fan, this is the elite. According to these two, this is a really cool thing to have and all their friends have one as well. I have also been informed that it can be flipped over and it will have a red backround, instead of a blue one on the other side. This is pretty cool I think, and allows a bit more fun with this. Cosy Factor (The Decider...) Apart from being cool, cosiness also matters. I can safely say this has passed with flying colors! It is really soft and you cannot even feel where the fabric has been printed on, it is just super smooth. It is a real 'snuggily' duvet and is so soft and warm. I love it! It would defiantely be suitable for those who just like to be warm and snug at night (mind you who doesn't) and is not rough or uncomfortable to sleep under. Full marks for the cosy factor and is excellent quality. Washing It is made up of 50% cotton 50% polyester and is prefectly machine washable. It stays in really good condition, even after washing. We've had this for around 3 months now, and is has not yet lost its brightness or softness. It has not got any rougher and is baring up nicely to getting used every day. It has had a break for a week or two sue to changing interests "I want the Power Rangers one this week" which happens to all kids! It washes really well and easily, and have had no problems with it at all. Overall One of my shorter reviews, however I wanted the world to know how cosy this is and how much I love it. It isn't even mine, but I occasionally nick it and snuggle up. I have to admit my duvet is boring and blue but this one is all colorful and has some very nice pictures of fit men! I've even considered asking for one for my birthday. This is great to have and would be a perfect gift for a WWE fan.
