“ Brand: Argos / Product Type: Pillow „
When I moved to uni I moved into halls meaning goodbye double bed and hello single bed so I needed to new bedding. I went to Argos as I knew they'd have a cheap variety of colourful pieces to choose from, a few colours were out of stock so I ended up going mismatched and had a purple duvet, pink bed cover and blue pillowcases.
The pillowcases came folded in a plastic wrapping with a piece of paper telling you what it was made of and how to clean them, they are made of 50% cotton and 50% polyester. The pillowcases fit well on my pillows and don't show the case inside or slip off when I sleep on them. They are easy to clean and the colour doesn't run or fade which is great as the colour is really bright. I'm sure you can find pillowcases that are softer than these but they are not uncomfortable and do not irritate my skin at all. I have slept on them almost every night since September and have had no problem with them.
I paid £3.50 for two pillowcases and have served me great. Overall they are good cheap product, perfect for students, children bedding or just anyone on a budget.
I've recently been changing the bedrooms around in my home and have bought a new duvet and bedding. Most of it has been from Argos. I never use the pillowcases that come with a duvet to sleep on, I prefer to keep these on pillows that are only put on in the daytime along with a few other cushions. Daft I know but I like the bed to look nice when we are not in it, I always feel the bed is the centrepiece of the room therefore should look nice. To make sure all my bedding matched I bought some extra pillow cases from Argos in the same colours as the duvets sets I got.
The pillow cases that I bought were from their colour match range, a range of household items in lots of colours so you if like me you like everything to match then you can. The pillow cases are in plain colours and cost just £3.49 a pair.
Colours available include Fiesta blue, white, cream, green, funky fuchsia, black, brown, aqua and mocha so plenty to choose from. Argos also do duvet covers and sheets to match all of these colours. I bought them in black and funky fuchsia.
When I removed the pillow cases from the basic packaging they came in I was pleased to see they appeared well made. All the seams were straight and looked secure, the pillow cases are made from 50% cotton, 50% polyester and measure 73cm x 46cm's They have a flap over end so the pillow is well hidden inside, the material feels nice and soft too.
I'm pleased with my pillow cases, they match the duvet covers and sheets that I bought from the colour match range perfectly, there's no difference in the shades at all. The pillow cases wash up nicely on a regular 30 or 40oC wash and need very little or no ironing which in my opinion is always good, they are suitable for tumble drying but I cannot comment on this as I don't have one.
I would certainly recommend the Argos colour match pillow cases, they are very good quality considering the low price. They come in a wide choice of colours so there's something to suit most colour schemes. Changing your bedding is a good way of sprucing up a bedroom and if this is what you are planning then I would definitely recommend giving this range a look especially as these are currently on offer for £1.99 a pair.
Having recently purchased a lot of duvet sets that all contained matching pillowcases I really did need to get some plain ones as I usually have pillows on my double bed and of course like all the pillows covered, protected and looking nice. I only wanted some cheap one's really cos no one really sees them anyway tucked under my posh/patterned ones! These in the white colour and costing only £2.49 in a pair seemed an ideal solution to me cos at the time as I was really watching the pennies hard.
They simply came in a clear plastic covering on which I was told what they were. Each one has a care label within it and that is it basically. Basic packaging from Argos this really is!
These are the only colour these particular pillowcases come in. Other colours are available but are not priced at the same as these as they are £2.99 a pair and I guess that as they are also called Linen Polycotton that they are the same quality and size etc, however I'm only assuming that of course and so am only writing on the ones for £2.49!
So mine are pure white in colour and of standard size. They are smooth looking and soft and not too transparent. Made from 50% polyester and 50% cotton according to the care label within the pillowcases these should be washed on a 40C wash and are suitable for tumble drying too.
Personally I have found these to wash up great, I've had no problem tumble drying them and they are simple to iron as well. They fit even my really thick pillows with ease and once shoved in stay very well put as they have a flap to one end that makes them secure.
All in all I think these are a great, economy purchase. Sure they are not the best quality, for that you need to pay far more but if your watching your pennies (like me!) then you can do an awful lot worse than purchasing these cos at least they are well enough made and don't fall apart on you even when washed regularly.
