When I got my new flat the most important thing to me to sort out was my bed. I went out and bought a gorgeous double bed and creased myself financially to get it but to me it was so important cos prior to that I had stayed in a caravan for a while with my best mate and then when I came to Weston both me and my mate slept in the same bed at my friends pub and although I am of course really grateful for that the bed that we slept in has to be described as the most uncomfortable one in the world and killed both of our backs so when it come to getting me mine it was of huge importance to me.
I wanted nice bedding for my bed but with no colourscheme going on as such at that point in my bedroom I decided to keep it plain and simple and turned to my Argos catalogue for some sort of inspiration and to keep things cheap for me.
I like to change my bedding very often and when it comes to sheets, pillowcases and duvet sets I like white (same as with towels). I think when they are light they do need to be good quality because of having to wash them so much more though I couldn't afford to splash out too much along with everything else I was having to buy my new home!
I really liked the look of this set and at £17.99 (for the double and two pillowcases) it really suited my purse and the idea of what I wanted in the white option though ivory, black, blackcurrant, cappuccino, chocolate, and claret are also available and in single (with one pillow case), kingsize and super kingsize options.
Made from 50% cotton and 50% polyester this is machine washable at 40c and suitable for tumble drying, so it is really easy to care for.
Appearance wise well mine is white of course though not the only available option available as I have previously pointed out but in my case it is a nice bright and pure white, soft to the touch and actually gets softer the more that it is washed. It's a very simple to look at bedset this one.
The pillowcases are of a standard size with some stitched in pleats to one side of it and a strip of silky ribbon, all well stitched in and colour co-ordinated with the rest of the set. My thick pillows slide in with ease and the end can be concealed with complete ease as there is a chunky flap so they look smart and it tucks in well.
The duvet set again is a standard size and my new quilt (which is now a winter one so is very thick), again fits with complete ease and to the top of the cover, again there are well stitched in pleats and a band of silk ribbon and to the bottom of the quilt there are press studs which are easy to undo and securely do up.
I've found this set to wash and dry rally well and it's a breeze to iron too, though it really does need a good iron or being so light in its colour it looks like rags!
I can heartily recommend this duvet set if you like plain things like I do and I think its worth every penny and in fact its on my bed now as I write this review from it and it really is soft and looks great!
Only available from Argos and in a range of different sizes. The single costs £14.99, double £17.99, kingsize £21.99 and super kingsize at £25.99 and so I class this as a safe economy buy!
