Argos Value Range Cosy Sleeper 13.5 Tog Duvet I recently had to get another quit for my daughters bed, as bless her she had been poorly with a sickness bug and using the spare quilt, as over the winter, I put a double quilt on her bed as she is a fidget. =Argos to the rescue= As one of the quilts we had managed to get machine washed at home, the other wouldn't fit it, and looking at taking it to the laundry it was as cost effective if not cheaper to buy a new quilt and chuck that one out. =13.5tog= I got a 13.5tog, as her bed is right by the radiator, so her room is always warm. =Value Range= This quilt was from the Argos value range, - the plastic wrapping is the blue and white packaging of the value range, and it explains about the quilt, that it is a double 13.5tog. =Pre-Use= When you purchase the duvet, it is wrapped into a cylinder shape, as soon as you open the packaging the duvet immediately starts fluffing up, and plumps nicely. The filling is a polyester filling, and this is evenly distrubed throughtout the quilt. The cover is 100% spun bonded non-woven polypropylene cover. (The paper like feel). =Washing= The quilt can be machine washed, and this is up to 60C. But drying is line dry only. =Price= The price for this quilt was £10.99, which is excellent value. =Alternative Options= The value range is available in Single, Double and King-size quilts, the tog ratings are 4.5tog - The lightest duvet - Summer weight through to 15tog which is Winter weight quilt. =Fitting= The quilt fitted perfectly in the double covers that we have at home, we had no problems fitting the quilt in, no big gaps either side in the quilt cover. =Comfort= My daughter found the quilt to be comfortable and has kept her warm, I have also tried the quilt in her bed, as when she has a sleepover, her and her friend have my double bed, and I move into her room with the single bed, but I always make sure I have a double quilt for comfort. Its comfortable, kept me warm. =Washing= We did manage to get this quilt into the washing machine, we have a 7kg tub machine, it washed perfectly, line dried it, then hang it over the clothes horse in the dining room, it took about 3 days to fully dry out. =Price= In all honestly at these prices, the plan is to change the other quilts to the value quits at this price, there just as easy to use for 6 months, then replace. Cheaper than paying laundrette prices. =Would I recommend= I would highly recommend these quilts. =My Niggle= The only niggle that I have about the quilts is the propeline cover - its the paper feel - once youve got use to it, there ok, just feel funny at first. I would prefer to pay £1 or so extra and have a cotton cover. This type of cover is not just confined to value quilts, its this cover that stops the quilts being tumble dryable
ARGOS VALUE RANGE 13.5 TOG DUVET Just before christmas last year I realized that not only did my own duvet cover need replacing but so did the one's of my 2 eldest childrens need to be replaced. Not wanting to spend a fortune as it was so close to christmas and their were presents that needed buying i did an online search and found this duvet. This argos duvet is available to buy from argos in-store and online, it is available as a single, double or kingsize duvet, I have 1 double and 2 singles. At the time of purchase I paid £6.99 for a single and £8.99 for a double which is fairly good value. The duvet come wrapped in plain argos plastic packaging and on opening need a good shake. They are suitable for line dry only, machine washable and are also non-allergenic and have a polyester filling. ***MY OVERALL OPINION*** When i first opened the packaging i felt a little disappointed as the duvets looked really thin and i first thought oh god these aren't going to keep us warm at all, But after a good shake they looked and felt a little thicker, (I think this is because they are packed so tightly). They fit into your duvet cover perfectly with no problems at all and they do keep you warm in bed. I have only washed one duvet once and that was a single one but it washed well and dried within 24 hours of been on the airier by the heater and has kept it's shape no problem. If your after something that won't cost much but will keep you warm then this is the duvet for you.
We often have guests that come to stay from England and so when we moved house I decided to buy some new bedding and searching around I found Argos had a king-size 13.5 tog quilt for just £12 I decided we would give it a go and ordered one. When you first receive the quilt it is curled up in to a tight roll with a plastic covering that is easy to remove. As soon as you open the quilt as it has been compact in the packet until it is sold it actually looks really small and thin and I did on first impressions think oh no what a waste of money. After unrolling the quilt it does not feel great to touch but as a quilt cover goes over it this does not really matter. I gave it a good shake and it started to plump up nicely it is still not overly thick and is a lot thinner than other quilts I have owned but it felt a lot better and seemed more reasonable. I made up the beds ready for the guests and once the duvet set was on it actually was looking and feeling a lot better there was nothing to show it is from a value range. We had no complaints from our family members while they stayed and they insisted they were comfy so they were fit for the purpose I brought it for. We had used this quilt on numerous occasions when ours is drying after I wash it in the machine and I was really surprised by the quality it feels really light so not overbearing while sleeping but at the same time manages to keep me snug and warm. So when it came to us needing to replace our quilt a few months back rather than going out and spending a fortune I decided to purchase this for our bed but did not tell hubby where I had brought it or how much. I am happy to say he could not tell the difference and still to this day although he has never asked he has never guessed it is from the Argos value range which shows you what good quality it actually is. I can confirm that our second purchase was just as good as the first it does not look to great on first appearance but like I say it is the feel that matters it fits nicely in king size bed covers and over all is fantastic providing a nice warm comfy sleep in the winter and in the warmer months it actually is not too warm it adapts well. My pet hate is lumpy quilts and this is perfect it lies flat yet is nice to snuggle in to and extremely comfy and we found it holds its shape well both in use and after being washed. Although we have no allergies to feather obviously as this is a cheaper range of quilt it is not made with feathers so if any of my guests had a problem with them it would be fine for them to use this quilt as it is made from hollow fibre. This can be washed on a 60 degree wash which is perfect as it is mainly used for guests and I like to know that it is clean and fresh for when them come and stay. It can only be dried on the line and it can take a while to dry but as long as you get it out early enough in the morning and the weather is nice it is not too much of a problem. There are different tog quilts available in the same range but I find this is prefect it keeps you warm without pinning you down and being uncomfortable and would highly recommend it. You can also buy it in single, double and king-size so one to fit any size bed that you need it for.
I bought this duvet to go with my sofa bed so that when I have guests they can keep cosy and warm and not have to use a sleeping bag. It is 13.5 tog which is quite thick but in comparison to other duvets and my own it feels thinner. I have slept using this duvet and it does keep you warm and toasty, it feels light and you dont get all sweaty. Without a duvet cover it feels very cheap to the touch, the cover isnt very luxurious and theres the general feeling that it is about to fall apart. It comes in the standard argos own brand blue and white packaging, its wrapped up very tightly and so can be carried easily from the collect section. I would say that it is a great buy for occasional use and if you dont mind using it for multiple guests. However if you need a duvet for every day sleeping for yourself then spend a bit more and get something that just is better made. I also know that one of my guests found it to be not suitable for people who have problems with allergies from certain materials. I have a storage compartment in my sofa bed and the beauty of this duvet is that because it is so thin it folds up small and can be stored along with the pillows.
I got this duvet when fixed up my room. The 13.5 tog band duvet is very lightweight and keeps me warm at night. The duvet is part of the Argos value range collection of products and comes packaged wrapped in a cylinder shape white a blue packaging. When I opened the duvet it falls out and is very fluffy and plumped up. The duvet has a polyester filling which is good for those who need duvets with no feathers due to allergies. The duvet is machine washable up to 60C. The duvet is for line dry only. My value range duvet is for my double bed. The duvet itself fits nicely into my duvet covers which where all brought from Argos. I never have the problem of the duvet shifting the covers and having to remake them to put them back into place. The duvet is relitavilly think and managed to keep me warm in the winter that has almost passed. I have washed the duvet once and it hasn't yet lost its warmth it still feels like I have just brought it. The duvet feels very nice when sleep or lying down with it on you because its seeps closely round your body as its very soft and free so there's no awkwardness/uncomfiness when you have it wrapped around you. When I brought the duvet it costed me 10.99 but that was a while ago Argos reduced the price to 7.83 this is a special offer but in not sure how long it lasts as it doesnt say but i would guess after easter it will go up but I think it's definetly worth either price. The duvet is available is all bed sizes single king and queens aswell as all tog band from 4.5 to 15 the most expensive price being the king size duvet with a 15 tog band at 22.99. I think this duvet is definetly worth an investment. P.S tog bands are the warmth of a duvet the lowest being 4.5 and the height being 15. 4.5 would be a cooler duvet and 15 would be the warmest.
It has been very cold recently and the 4.5 tog duvet that we have bee using has not been good enough. I did have a thicker double duvet that I put in a vacuum bag last year when buying my 4.5 tog but when I emptied the bag and took the duvet out I found that there was a hideous chemical smell to it that I just could not shake despite several washes and it was almost making me feel sick so in the end I picked up one of these cheap double duvets from Argos in my lunch break. I believe I played just over £10.00 and the current full price is £10.99, however if you are interested in this duvet then you can find one for just £7.78 (save 25%) which is incredibly reasonable. This is a polyester hollowfibre filled duvet so this is ideal for anyone who is allergic to feathers. This duvet can be washed in the machine at 60C. This duvet was wrapped up in a thick plaster bag which I managed to open quite easily without the need for scissors or anything else. I had to give the duvet a nice shake and a plump before using it but it definitely looked better after I had done this. I was a little unsure about buying this at first as I had bought a 4.5 tog from Argos last year and not found it to be as good as it was described to be. I noticed online that there are literally hundreds of reviews on the Argos website and so I was swayed in to buying one and I have been very pleased with my purchase! The cover of this duvet feels quite light and definitely did not make me feel like I would be warm however the duvet itself was fantastic for us and kept us warm through even the coldest nights. This duvet doesn't look luxurious but it has worked very well for us. I have lots of wonderful bed linen that costs far more than this duvet did and this helps it look and feel more luxurious anyway so I am not too worried. We had a couple of weeks of very cold weather (like most of the country I am sure) and this duvet definitely helped us to stay warm without having to have the heating on throughout the night. We tend to keep the heating off through the night as our neighbours underneath us usually heat our home with their heating during the night and then our home becomes very warm, almost unbearably so hence our need for a thicker duvet instead. The price of this duvet was incredibly reasonable and this was soft and comfortable throughout the night. The double size was true to form and fit out bed, bedding and bodies wonderfully! I felt like this duvet was warm while still being breathable and this meant that depending on the bedding type we had (i.e satin, silk etc) neither one of us ended up hot, sweaty or throwing the duvet off the bed and making the other one become freezing cold!
I recently bought a new duvet as the one we had been using was getting really old, flat and shabby. I didn't want to pay a lot of money out so opted for one from Argos, their value range. We only have a double bed but I got a kingsize duvet, I like to have a lot of duvet spare hanging down each side. The Argos Value Range Cosy Sleeper Duvet cost just £13.99 and has a tog rating of 13.5. The duvet has a 100% manmade hollow fibre filling making it ideal for those with allergies to feathers. The cover is 100% spun bonded non-woven polypropylene. The duvets measures approximately 230cm's x 220cm's and is white in colour as you would expect. When I bought my duvet it was packed tightly in quite a small roll inside a plastic bag. The bag was pretty basic as you would expect from a value range. Once out of the bag the duvet puffs up and grows to a nice thick duvet. It is stitched in sections to stop the filling all ending up in one part of it and looks very well made with all nice strong looking neat seams. I don't know what it is with the people who manufacture duvets and duvet covers but they don't all seem to follow the same set of measurements, however I was pleased to find that my new kingsize duvet fitted in all my covers more or less perfectly! Some are a little on the big size but generally they seem alright. I'm really pleased with my Argos value range Cosy sleeper duvet. it weighs approximately 3.5kg and feels very light over you yet its incredibly warm and cosy. It has a nice thickness to it and for the money its good quality. We have certainly been pleased with it the last 2 weeks with all the snow we've had, It is machine washable, if you can fit it in your machine, at 60c but needs to be dried on the line. If you are looking for a duvet and don't want to pay out too much money I would certainly recommend considering the Argos Value Cosy Sleeper range. At 13.5 tog it may be too warm for summer but just now this duvet is ideal, its light yet keeps you warm and toasty, my three cats would agree with this too!
Duvet I just read a review on this duvet and realised it was the same one that I bought three of them last year when the icy winter seemed never ending and our ancient duvets were not up to the job and one this year when my eldest upgraded from a single to a double bed. The sizes as you may have worked out were one kingsize for 'our' bed, by our I mean me and the dog, and the husband if he can control his snoring, and two singles for my girls, and the double upgrade. We didn't buy them all at the same time as I was a bit nervous about buying such a 'cheap' product (when I purchased the first single I'm pretty sure it was only about £6 or £7, now £8.99) as the cheapest I'd seen single duvets for in recent years were about £25 and those had not lived up to expectation. We chose the 13.5 tog as it was pretty cold and our heating was dodgy, however we aren't a family that like to be over heated so didn't want to go up to a 15 tog which is also available, as are togs as low as 4.5. Forgive me if I can't give the details from the packaging as it has long since been thrown away, but the duvets came in a nice and compact cylindrical plastic pack as the Dooyoo picture. My review will be about my kingsize duvet which is at the time of writing £12.99, but everything I can say about it is equally relevant to the smaller sizes too. The duvets according to the Argos website are: 100% spun bonded non-woven polypropylene cover. 100% polyester hollowfibre filling. Non-allergenic. Machine washable at 60C. Line dry only. The first thing I noticed about these duvets was in my opinion the weird covering, which was like nothing I'd seen before. on a duvet at least. It reminded me a little of the thin insulation 'gauze' my Nan used to protect certain plants (sort of making a loose tent over the plant or pot), or interfacing used in constructing garments to give certain areas more body and a little stiffness. It didn't feel nice to the touch and didn't seem to sit against the body of the duvet well, no hugging of contours here. However my old duvet literally had worn into holes in places and I hadn't exactly liked the nylonish cover on that, so I didn't freak out too much and decided to go with it. I prepared myself fir a titanic tussle as I expected the material to provide a lot of friction which would 'catch' on the cover and prevent easy insertion. However I was very pleasantly surprised and I managed to get the duvet into the cover with minimum sobbing and swearing; it did help that all pets were excluded from the room during the operation, I've learnt my lesson in that department! Once the duvet was snugly ensconced in my cotton duvet cover it looked as good as any other duvet, I am biased but having a threadbare duvet in my covers for some time this looked like luxury personified. It was plump and deep and looked the sort of duvet you just want to bury yourself in. I have to add that my daughter has a slightly more satiny duvet cover as her main one than I do and it does slip around on the duvet itself a little more than my cotton cover does, but she has no complaints about it and hasn't mentioned this, I just noticed when I made the bed. She is just as enamoured of hers as I am with mine. My first night with my new bed partner was blissful and I'm not exaggerating, previously I'd been piling up things on the end of the bed to try and prevent my toes falling off with cold even though my old duvet was meant to be a similar tog rating. I was engulfed in a big flummpy sea of warmth, it was much thicker than my old duvet or other high tog duvets I've owned and I liked this it sort of felt like a protective cocoon. Although it is thicker it's also much lighter and doesn't weigh me down at all, when I saw the construction of the duvet's cover I thought it wouldn't sit well on me, or contour to my body enough, but it seems just right. It doesn't tuck around every little curve and dip or bulge but it kept the areas that aren't in contact with it perfectly warm. The yawning crevasse that sometimes forms between the husband and I doesn't feel chilly at all. If you like to feel a weight against your body from your bedding then this one won't satisfy that, but I love the airy lightness with superb warmth. I have only washed the duvet once after the husband had flu and 'contaminated' my lovely bed with his furnace like exudations. I didn't try and wash it in my own machine as I don't have a an extra big drum on my most recent machine (I would have washed the double or smaller at home), so took it to the laundrette and washed as instructed. It came up very well and with some shiggling back into shape and sort of line drying looked pretty good. I have an old ceiling suspended airer in my dining room which used to be a kitchen from when my husband's granny lived in the house, which is ideal for drying things like this indoors as it supports so much more of the item than a single line. After a year of use I haven't noticed any deterioration of the duvets, no movement of the filling into uneven clumps, or bobbling, or 'threading' of the duvets' covers or decrease in cosiness. I have asthma and can react to certain bedding, feather pillows etc aren't good, or dust mites. While using this duvet I have had not issues with allergies, or increased night time asthma at all. I was expecting to have to buy a lower tog duvet for the summer months, but partly due to not having much of a summer and partly down to the duvet it was just fine and I only had a couple of nights where I slept half way out or on top of the duvet with a sheet. If we have a proper summer I will probably have to change the duvet but so far so good. I think the value range includes a 15 tog summer/winter product which can be split into two lower tog duvets. I wouldn't say this duvet has quite the same snuggle quality as an expensive down duvet but it does more than well enough for us, and I would have no hesitation at all in recommending it. 100% spun bonded non-woven polypropylene cover
I decided i wanted to buy some extra duvet covers with the weather being so cold lately and showing no signs of retreating i wanted a two doubles, money being tight so soon after christmas they also had to be relatively cheap without compromising any warmth quality. I regularly buy household item from Argos and came across these whilst browsing the site online, i decided to give them a try at a price of £9.99, i did however feel a little sceptical due to them being part of the value range and also being so cheap but based on the hundreds of positive ratings on the site i reserved two to collect the same day. ==THE PRODUCT== Argos Value range Cosy Sleeper 13.5 Tog Duvet * 100% Spun Banded Non-Woven polypropylene Cover * 100% Polyester Hollowfibre Filling * Non-Allergenic * Machine Washable * Line dry Only Tog Value conforms to the British Standards of Thermal Insulation * Price £9.99 The packaging wes very basic and compact, the duvet's were wrapped in a plastic cover that you simply broke into and stretched open to reveal the duvet, at first sight the duvet does look very poor quaility but upon opening the duvet fluffed out, plumped up and actually looked a decent thickness. Admittedly the covering was not too appealing either and was definitely not cotton but it did feel very light and airey, the shape seemed fine though and i think it was the 'cheap look' of the product that put me off at this point so i had to remind myself i had not bought the product for how it looked i had bought it for a practical purpose as a means to keeping us warmer on these colder nights, after all the duvet could be inserted into a cotton duvet cover and no one would notice the overall look of the product itself, and for this price i could hardly complain. ==IS IT WARM?== Wow this product totally exceeded my expectations, it kept us perfectly warm and snug all night, it felt lovely and soft and also very light and comfortable, we were definitely snug as a bug under this duvet, it was surprisingly cozy and did not feel heavy at all which is why the warmth also surprised me, i had paid up to five times as much for products of this size and tog in the past but this duvet beat them all hands down for warmth and comfort. I used to get annoyed at heavy duvets that restricted movement and made you feel pinned to the bed and disliked the feel as they seemed un-breatheable and contributed to making you feel very sweaty after a short time so i was forever throwing the duvet on and off never finding that perfect balance between being toasty but not sweaty, this duvet has cracked it in my opinion, it is reasonably thick but very light enough to still breathe allowing you to be snug at the perfect temperature. I am very pleased with the warmth this duvet provides, it does even feel warmer than a 13.5 tog and i would say this duvet is too warm for the summer months but perfect for this time of year, it gets really warm on a cold night but also as important it is really light and very comfortable. ==FINAL THOUGHTS== Well firstly i think this is a great product at a great price, why pay more than you have to when this does as good a job as products costing five times as much! i am so glad i purchased this duvet and i will definitely be buying more from this range in the near future, it cannot be beated on value for money in my opinion and it totally full fills it's purpose, worth every single penny and very affordable at such an amazing price. I would absolutely recommend this product to anyone and everyone, just do not be fooled by the initial first impression like i was, there has been times in the past when i have returned products for not 'looking' like good quality products once opened without even trying them out and giving them a chance first, i am very glad and pleased i gave this product that chance to prove to me that it had the ability to do what it said on the tin so to speak and i have again learnt my lesson on not judging products on looks alone in the future. Available to buy from- www.argos.co.uk I rated this product a fantastic 4 out of 5 Thank You for Reading :-)
