“ Brand: Argos / Product Type: Fitted Sheet „
A while ago when I was shopping in Argos and browsing the catalogue at the bedding section to see how much the sheets cost, I spotted these single sheets for sale and decided to buy one sheet for the single bed which my little grandson sleeps in when he comes to sleep over at my home.
The sheets are really cheap to buy and come well packaged. The sheets are a cream colour and a fairly thin cotton/polyester material but adequate enough thickness since they are cheap. The colour is nice and not dirty looking on the bed. It does feel nice and soft too and I was pleasantly surprised how soft they did feel, I imagined they would feel kind of a little rough and not soft. They aren't super soft like a more expensive brand but I am pleased with the softness of the sheet for my little grandson to have a comfortable night's sleep.
The corners of the sheet are elasticated and they fit over the mattress really well and a nice snug fit. The sheet doesn't fall off the bed at all and I am happy to say so far the sheet has never come off the bed each time my grandson has slept at my home. He is a little wriggler in bed, I know because he has often crept into my bed early in the morning and been a right little wriggler like most youngsters tend to be at times.
The sheets are made from 48% cotton and 52% polyester. I don't mind this content amount of cotton for a sheet which isn't going to be slept on every single night for a child. I do think the sheet is a super one to buy if your child wets the bed quite a lot and you have to change the sheets frequently. No point spending a fortune on sheets which have to be change regularly for bed wetting children. My grandson doesn't wet the bed so I don't have to change it during the night or in the morning which is a blessing.
I think these sheets are ideal for a bed in a spare room or a holiday home or caravan. They don't cost the earth and are so affordable for any budget in my opinion and a good way of dressing a bed in a spare room because the duvet would cover the sheet anyway so it wouldn't be seen with the cover over the top. My grandson has a spiderman duvet cover over his sheet on his bed and I barely see the sheet with the cover over this sheet..
The sheet fits a mattress depth of 25cm which is a good depth. If your mattress is deeper than 25cm it may not fit so well but it fits well on the mattress on my grandson's bed perfectly without having to struggle to fit it over each corner of the mattress.
It also washes really well and it doesn't tend to lose the cream colour at all. Can be washed on a 40% setting.I also find it dries very quickly because it isn't a thick material sheet. It dries in around 15 minutes or so in my tumble drier, so it doesn't cost a lot of money or a fortune drying it in my drier compared to maybe a thicker cotton material. I always wash it on a low setting in my washing machine and it has always looked nice and clean after it has been washed.
The quality of the sheet is a really good one and excellent value for the price. I paid just £2.83 for it and for this price I think it is a super one and well worth the money in my opinion.
These value sheets come in a double and kingsiz too, so if you are wanting to buy one for a double or kingsize bed it can be purchased at a little more than the price of this single sheet price.
This is a very good buy and I highly do recommend it for anyone looking for a value sheet at a super price. I am going to buy some more in the future since I am going to buy my little granddaughter a bed to sleep in for when she sleeps at my home and has just gone into her own divan bed at her own home.
I give this sheet 5 stars.
Just cannot go wrong for just under £3 for a single fitted sheet in my opinion. A good bargain price and a nice sheet and I am pleased I spotted it in the Argos catalogue on the day I bought it.
Thank you for reading my review and I hope it has been of some help.
After reading a review on this site the end of last year I went and purchased some of these sheets from Argos.
I initially brought two single sheets from the Argos Value range, they cost just £2.83 each which I found extremely cheap. After a month of having used and washed the single ones I returned and got two double sheets also at a low price of £3.93 each. If you intend to purchase some it may be an idea to reserve them on line as I had to wait a few weeks before any were in stock so as soon as they were I reserved them as they are obviously popular.
These sheets come in one colour of cream which is fine with me as will go with any duvets sets really without clashing. Each sheet is fitted making them stay on the bed easily. Each corner of the sheet is elasticated and easy to put on the bed, plenty of room for them to fit over the corners and pull down to just under the mattress. I like to be able to make the beds quickly in the mornings which just involves throwing the duvets back over, my son's previous fitted sheets used to end up creeping off the corners and becoming all messed up during the night but these sheets stay put. It will Fit a mattress depth up to 25cm.
I find the quality surprisingly good for such a cheap product. The sheets themselves do not feel thin but a good quality cotton. Made from 52% polyester and 48% cotton they have been washed many times already and have kept the quality too and not started to fade or thin at all. I wash them on a 30oc wash. I don't iron sheets but even if I did these don't become creased when washed and dried.
Totally recommend these sheets whether you are money saving or after a bargain these sheets will give you good quality.
I will next try the pillow cases.
When we got our king sized bed we were at a loss as we genuinely didn't realise our double bedsheets would have to go and we would then have to buy a whole new load of bedding! I have to say we are lazy bums and aside from Primark (at least a 20 minute drive away), Argos was our next cheapest and decent point of call for some bedding. Being versatile and trying to keep it simple we opted to get black sheets and we are still using them to this day!
The sheet is made from 50% cotton and 50% polyester but has a really soft feel to it and is soft to lay on. In terms of quality it's definitely not the thickest and most luxurious of bedding but nevertheless it does the job for us and we have had no irritation or discomfort laying on our bed with this sheet! One thing I did find is that the sheet is relatively thin so god bless our mattress protector which is quilted and provides a bit more extra padding and protecting between our bodies and the mattress itself lol.
The sheet is really easy to put on the mattress, as it has elasticated edges which fit neatly around the corners of our kingsize mattress and stays put. It looks really good when on the bed and as lazy as I am, there is no need for ironing as once it's fitted it straightens out any creases that may have existed before!
Washing the bed sheet is easy, I tend to wash in the machine on 30 degrees and it never shrinks or anything which is brilliant. I tend to air dry it naturally, so I wouldn't necessarily recommend it to be put in the tumble dryer. You can get them in all bed sizes: single, double and kingsize options in a variety of colours. The kingsize is currently £4.84 but I think I probably paid £4.99 at the time I purchased ours. Think I need to get to argos and stock up!
Moving to uni meant I was no longer going to have a nice double bed but on the plus side it meant choosing new, fun bedding! I went to Argos as I knew they'd have a cheap selection of colourful pieces to choose from, I decided to go a bit mismatched and chose blue pillowcase, a purple duvet cover and a bright pink bottom sheet.
The fitted sheet came neatly folded around some cardboard in plastic wrapping with a piece of paper stating what it was and made of and how to clean it (all the boring stuff I didn't read!). Opening the sheet from the packaging was very easy and then putting it over the mattress was too and there was no annoying struggle of it slipping off one end as I tucked it around the other. The elastic used keeps the sheet on nice and tight and having slept on it for the last two months it has no once come off. Cleaning the sheet is also easy, the colour does not run and also doesn't fade which is great as it's such a great colour!
I think I paid about £3-£4 for this so obviously it is not the best of bed sheets but is definitely great for students like myself, childrens beds or just anyone on a budget. Overall I find the material is soft and I find it very comfortable to sleep on which is all anyone wants from a bed sheet in the end isn't it?
I love buying bedding and I love light, fresh, clean crisp colours on my bed. I know however that having light colours such as white and creams that they need to be changed alot and that is why I own so much bedding!
When I moved into my flat, my bed and bedding was my most important purchases to me. I appreciate a comfortable bed more than anything else and with having so many ailments I need comfort.
One of the places (along with Ikea) was Argos where I turned to, to get a lot of my stuff that I needed. I found the bedding to be rather cheap and cheerful and bulk bought loads of it and I grabbed a few of these sheets (as they were on sale at the time).
These come in single, double (which is mine) and kingsize options in both white and cream options. The single costs £2.99, the double is £3.99 and the kingsize usually costs £4.99 though at the time I submit this review the white option is currently on sale at £2.99 (so if you want it you better hurry lol).
The sheets come basically in a clear and cardboard wrapping on which you are told what it is and on the back contact details for Argos are given and thats it really.
The Fitted Sheet:
Made from 50% cotton and 50% polyester this is machine washable at 40c and suitable for tumble drying. It is plain to look of at course being a block colour and not too thin (so you can't see through it). It has a tight elasticated edging and fits my bed with perfect ease and once it is placed and fitted to my bed it doesn't move at all or ping off or anything like that, it simply stays in place and not once moved on my bed at all. It irons well enough too and it is important to be ironed or it looks a right state lol.
It isn't the best quality I won't lie but then I never expected it to be for £3.99 (for the double) fitted sheet and actually I paid £1.99 for a few of them whilst they were on offer but it looks nice enough and is soft enough. It just isn't as soft as a lot of far more expensive fitted sheets that I own but its good enough. it certainly isn't rough and I have found that the more I wash it the softer and more comfortable it becomes over time.
I wouldn't hesitate in purchasing these in the future as they do offer excellent value for money just don't expect Egyptian or a high thread count and you won't be disappointed people!
