~~~ The Back Story~~ Our daughter is now three years old, toilet trained and finally sleeping through the night on a regular basis. I am now in a better position to reflect on which toddler-related items I recommend as near necessities, those that would be "nice to have", and those that one could really do without. My husband and I are older first-time parents who spent far too many years at university. This meant that prior to becoming parents we had some very fixed ideas on how our soon-to-be daughter would be raised. There was no way in our lives that our child would have stereotypical toys or colours, there'd be little to no television (Dora the Explorer excepted), and certainly no Disney/Pixar/Mainstream products in our lives. Nope. None what so ever (Pooh and friends excepted). It turned out that every man and his dog wanted to buy us presents to celebrate Millie's birth, and we soon discovered that dressing little girls in pink and purple is so much fun, and that ultimately lots of little girls love Hello Kitty, Mermaids, Mickey & Minnie, Pooh & Friends, and Princesses. Princesses!! Urg. Two years later time had moved on. Our fixed ideas had definitely changed. This Princess duvet set waved at me from a shelf when it was nearly time for Millie to have her first "proper" bedding. ~~~ This Product ~~~ I purchased this children's duvet set from Tescos for £10. The set comprises a single duvet cover (135 x 200cm) and a matching pillowcase (48 x 74cm), both made of polyester - cotton mix. Thankfully the duvet cover has poppers rather than buttons. The main colour scheme is pink - -there's both light and dark pink. It's a little different to the image pictured on Dooyoo. The display side of the duvet depicts several Disney Princesses: Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty (Princess Aurora) and Belle. There's an image of a castle in the background. The word "Princess" is printed across the bottom end. The reverse side is a light yellow with many rows of pink bows. There are no princesses on the pillow case. Instead the design replicates the reverse side of the duvet. ~~~ My Experience ~~~ Millie has been using this duvet set for ten months. It is soft, comfortable and looks like it did on the day we bought it despite even being subjected to a simultaneous explosive code brown and puke party. As it is the only bedding set she uses, it has been laundered multiple times. A single duvet fits perfectly into the cover and remains in place overnight. We use an adult-sized pillow, which fits into the pillow-case. Millie loves using this set. It's on her bed year round. In summer she uses it without a duvet, as though it is a heavy single sheet. Despite the fact that this item is pink and has princesses on it, we are very happy with it. ~~~ Recommended?~~~ Yes. A nice-to-have product.
I transformed my daughters Peppa Pig bedroom in to a 'grown up girls' Disney Princess bedroom about a year or two ago, upon request! The very last thing we bought for her bedroom was a duvet set as I wanted to keep her smaller sized toddler bed whilst she was trying to stay dry overnight. Once she was dry, we bought her a bigger sized single bed and a single bed sized duvet. Character World specialise in children's furniture and feature many different popular characters on their products. They do a number of different Disney Princess duvet sets, our duvet set is slightly different to that pictured above. I bought my daughters Disney Princess duvet set from Sainsburys for £10.00 which I don't think is a bad price. I also saw it being sold in Wilkinsons, B&Q and Amazon for around the same price. The set consists of a duvet cover and pillow case. The duvet cover is the size of a single sized duvet and I have no trouble fitting my daughters duvet inside. The duvet cover seals up with poppers, not buttons, which is a relief because I HATE buttons on duvet covers! The poppers are surprisingly strong and hardly ever pop open, even when my daughter has a particularly active night and decides to kick her covers all over the place! The pillow case is the size of an average pillow. My daughters pillow fits inside perfectly well, although there is plenty of space inside if I decide to get a bigger/plumper pillow. The design is very pretty and my daughter loves it. The duvet set fits in very well with the rest of my daughters bedroom and she even has matching Character World Disney Princess curtains! The duvet cover and the pillow case are both reversible, so you can flip them over and choose which side you want to use. The pillow case has the same design on both sides but the duvet cover is slightly different. Neither me nor my daughter really have a favourite side, they're both nice. The duvet is mainly light pink in colour but has a touch of light blue and some other pastel colours. On one side are large sized squares - some look like they are stitched on, some have spots in them and others have stripes in them. It also features buttons, hearts, flowers, bows, enchanted roses and glass slippers. Cinderella and Belle's faces make a repeated appearance along with the word 'Princess'. The other side is quite similar but has smaller sized squares which have polka dots, spots, checked print and hearts in them. The word 'Princess' features a few times in large writing and the words 'Perfect' and 'Princess' appear repeatedly in smaller writing. Belle and Cinderella appear on this side too. The pillow case features Snow White in the centre with the word 'Princess' underneath. It has the same colour scheme and pattern as the duvet cover. There is also an apple in the corner. The only downside is that there's no sign of Sleeping Beauty or Rapunzel, which are two of my daughters favourite princesses. She doesn't seem too fussed by this though. I can't quite remember how long we have had the duvet set for but I think it's been over a year now. It seems like very good quality - we've had no problems with the duvet set and despite washing it every week, it's still in very good condition - no fading, bobbling etc. It's made from 100% polyester microfibre which is quite a thin material but this isn't a problem or a downside. The duvet set is machine washable (40 degree, inside out, no dark colours) and can be ironed (on reserve). Overall, I'm happy to recommend the Character World Disney Princess Duvet set to all. It's pretty, fits in nicely with Princess (or just girly) bedrooms, is good quality, is reversible, washes well and is a perfect size for single duvets.
We've recently spent some time decorating our daughter's bedroom. As always the finishing touches seem to include new bedding, so to fit in with the princess theme, we chose a pretty pink Disney princess bedding set. After looking around and comparing prices, we chose the bedding set through Amazon for £17.99. Included in the set for this price is a single duvet cover and pillow case. First impressions upon opening the packet were that the design was going to fit well with the bedroom theme. The colour scheme of the duvet set is a nice delicate pink with shades of equally pastel shades to fit with the princess's clothes. There is nothing worse than having a bright, vibrant colour scheme on a child's bed when you're trying to calm them down at the end of the day. The duvet cover is predominately focusing on three princesses, Belle, Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella. They take up over three quarters of the space on the duvet cover but the design works well. The pillow case is slightly more subtle with just wording instead of pictures. When you first take the set out of the packaging, it does feel slightly stiff and rigid. I would advise putting through the wash to soften up before the first use. I have found the fabric to settle down slightly after each wash, and it perhaps took around five wash cycles to feel as soft as I would like it to be for my daughter. Both items are made from 50% polyester and 50% cotton. They are both averagely thick to the touch and feel good quality. The duvet cover opens and closes via poppers which are easier in my opinion when you're in a rush to remove the covers and get other jobs done. Once on the bed, I find the duvet cover to sit well against both our thin and thicker duvet. The corners fit well and overall both the duvet cover and the pillow case appear well made. After time I always expect colours to fade and look tired, but whether it's due to the fact that the colours on the set are paler anyway or not, but this set still looks as good as new after a few months of use and wash which is a great plus point considering the price of the set. Compared to other character duvet sets we have bought in the past, this one is faring well against the others, but isn't standing out any better than others that we have paid lesser money for. Overall I think it you're looking for a Disney Princess themed duvet set, then this is a good one to choose. Let's face it you're swamped with design ideas when it comes to choosing from the princess range.
My daughter is Disney Princess mad, so last year, when we decided to move her into the bigger spare room, there was only really one option of what the theme was going to be. Not wanting overkill, we decided that we would keep the walls plain and just have the soft furnishings Princess themed. RRP: There are lots of different Disney Princess bedding sets and they are widely available and the prices can range from £10 to £30. We purchased ours from Tescos for £14.99. The Set: The set contains one pillowcase and a single full sized duvet cover. The pillowcase has is pale pink on the front with a picture of Belle and the rear as a darker shade of pink with white bows, crowns and hearts on. The duvet cover is also pink and has a full sized picture of Snow White, Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella on. The bottom of the duvet cover has clear plastic buttons on to fasten, I personally prefer these as opposed to press studs as they never seem to come undone. Dimensions: The duvet cover measures approximately 140 x 200cm The pillowcase measures approximately 48 x 74cm Both are made from 50% cotton and 50% polyester. Caring for you product: The set is machine washable and has been washed a number of times now, it hasn't faded neither have any of the colours run. My Opinion: I think this is definitely worth the money I paid for it, we have had it for nearly a year now and still looks like new. We decorated my daughters bedroom while she was away for the weekend and it was all ready when she returned. She absolutely loves her new princess bedroom, so much so that she has asked Mamma if she can paint the spare room at her house the same. The only downside of the product is the polyester content, it doesn't feel as soft as it could but I found washing with a good fabric softener helped this. I would recommend this to any budding little princess or princess fan. Review may also be on other sites under the same user name. Thanks for reading
When my daughter went from her cot into the cot bed I needed to buy a larger duvet as the cot duvet was a little too small for the bigger bed. She was not happy at all that the bars were coming off her cot and was getting quite distressed about it so I decided to take her shopping and let her choose a special bedding set to try and make her feel better about it. We went round town to various shops but didn't find any that she liked so we ended up coming home empty handed and resorted to the internet. Immediately she wanted to search for princess things as she is Disney Princess crazy, so I looked on Amazon and found a lovely duvet set for her. The Disney Princess duvet set was ideal for my daughter, as she loves them and it goes perfectly with her bedroom, just completing the pink theme. The duvet set came packed in the usual plastic wrapper with the set visible through the front and a large picture of the bedding on the back. Inside the packaging was the duvet cover and pillow case which is standard for a duvet set. Taking the set out of the packaging I noticed there was a bit of a rough feel to it so immediately I put it in the washing machine, which I tend to do with new bedding anyway but I really wanted to soften the fabric a little before putting on the bed. Even after washing the fabric was still quite stiff which is a real shame. The material is quite thin and putting the duvet cover on the first time I found that it was a little bigger than the duvet itself which is quite annoying as every time it has been slept in it moves around so needs sorting out to put it back in place. It fastens at the bottom with poppers and one of the poppers has melted in the wash which I was aware can happen from time to time. The picture on the duvet is really lovely and perfect for little princess fans. It is pastel pink in colour and features Belle, Princess Aurora and Cinderella with a castle in the background and contrasting coloured bows dotted around. It really is a stunning looking duvet set and looks beautiful in my daughters bedroom. I change my daughters bed every week and most of the time she wants this set back on her bed by the same night so it has to be washed and dried quite often and I have noticed that they dye is now starting to fade. As this wasn't a particularly cheap set I am surprised at this happening already and it now looks like its a couple of years old. The price of the Disney Princess duvet set is currently £12.99 which isn't overly expensive but it isn't very good quality and how much it has already faded is a real let down. All the same my daughter does absolutely adore it and always wants it on her bed as she says she feels like one of the princesses when she is in her bed. I wouldn't personally buy this duvet set again as I would like better quality for my daughters bedding really. Thank you for reading my review.
