I bought my Argos ColourMatch Bedding Set a good few years ago now. The Argos ColourMatch range gives the ability to mix and match different products and ensure that the colours perfectly match. I have a fair few different Argos ColourMatch items, and my colour of choice for the bedroom items is Lagoon. I have this ColourMatch bedding set and thick blackout curtains both in lagoon which match really well. Each bedding set is block colours without pattern and so make a nice bold statement.
Looking on the Argos website I cannot see that this bedding set is available anymore in the lagoon colour. Personally I think this is a shame as the lagoon is really nice, it is a strong colour although for me not too 'in your face'.
At the moment the following colours are for sale:•Poppy Red
Each king size set contains a king size duvet cover and 2 pillows. The current price is £14.99. Argos also sell this same range of bedding in different sizes. A double set is £10.99 and single is £8.99.
The Argos spec reads:
•Set includes 1 duvet cover and 2 pillowcases.
•Made from 52% polyester and 48% cotton.
•Suitable for tumble drying.
I have a king size duvet although only a double bed. The reason for this is to try and ensure that husband Rick gets to have some duvet in the night when I try to steel it all. For us this size works well and the duvet cover fits well with the duvet. The pillow cases also fit our standard sized pillows well.
The duvet cover feels really nice and soft. It washes well and even after a couple of years the colour has not faded at all and remains fresh and vibrant. The set dries really nice and quickly when on the washing line and it is tumble dry safe. The duvet fastens with poppers which I like as it is very easy to fasten and unfasten. The pillow covers have no fastening as such with the material enveloping the pillow.
I am very happy with this duvet set. It is not the cheapest around but for me I like the colour being able to match my curtains perfectly. I am disappointed that the range of colours that Argos supply these sets has been reduced but for now my lagoon bedding set remains in good condition even after a couple of years.
=Colour Match Duvet Set - Kingsize=
Colour Match Duvet Set - Kingsize.
After being really impressed with the Argos fitted sheet, I decided to purchase further items from the range.
I purchased the true purple kingsize quilt cover. This was £14.99.
Like the sheet, this is simply packaged, it is in a cellophane wrapper, with the thin cardboard inside, which on the front describes the "Colours Collection" and the colour and the item you have purchased.
The kingsize quilt cover, with 2 matching pillow cases. You can purchase additional pillows cases in packs of 2 (£3.96 although some colours are currently on offer at £1.96), for a pack of 2 pillow cases, as I like to have 2 pillows each side of the bed.
The duvet measures apr. 230cm x 220cm, and the bottom end the opening for the quilt cover is about 120cm, this opening is poppers, which I find better, as your fiddling with buttons and then trying to locate the matching button holes.
The pillowcases measures apr. 73cm x 46cm and these have the flap over type closing, the overlay of the play is apr. 15cm, so you do have a nice even fit.
The material of the set is 50% cotton and 50% polyester.
I washed both the duvet and the pillowcases before use, I was a bit worried with the colour being purple, but I can say that they did not run, (a big plus point). I washed mine at 40C. The sets can also be tumble dried, which with the weather we have been having is a wonderful asset.
=Wear and Tear=
I was impressed with the quality of the pillowcases and the duvet, the seams are all neat, the stitching is strong, overall it is well made set, and certainly holds it own compared to sets that I have paid a lot more money for.
=A year later=
I brought my set about a year ago, and it gets used on a 3 weekly cycle, and I am pleased to say that the cover and pillowcases have kept their colour well, I have noticed no fading, there is no thin patches or holes appearing, and it washes well.
=Would I recommend=
I would highly recommend the Colourworks range from Argos, it is excellent value for money, great colour range. Excellent value for money.
I'm thinking of renaming the house as an Argos showroom, as the colour works range is creeping into the rooms bit by bit. I like the fact that the items are available in different sizes, - duvet sets - single, double, kingsize, you can purchase additional items in same colour or contrast. Another good example is curtains, they do a good selection of widths and lengths.
-Single Duvet - You get 1 pillow case
-Double Duvet - 2 Pillow cases
-Kingsize - 2 Pillow cases.
With a huge sofa bed and knowing my parents were coming to stay over and hate to take my bed over I decided recently to go out and buy nice bedding for them to make them nice and comfy and as at home as possible. I had to go out by a kingsize duvet and allsorts and running out of cash fast I decided to take to my Argos catalogue to see what sort of nice, but still reasonably priced duvet sets they had. As my living room is blue as is my sofa I opted for this 'colour match' one in a lovely bright aqua colour costing me only £14.99 for the duvet cover itself and two matching pillowcases.
It is made from 50% cotton and 50% polyester and so has a nice soft cotton feel to it, the duvet and pillowcases are block coloured so plain and the bottom of the duvet cover does up with matching coloured poppers to your chosen coloured bedding and are easy to open and close. The pillowcases are standard size and I got them over really nice, plump and new pillows easily to which one side of them flaps over nicely and keeps the covers in place nicely.
They ae suitable for washing on a 40C wash or lower and suitable for tumble drying and ironing if you desire and it really is an easy to care for bedding set and though I have washed and tumble dried it rather often since purchasing it I've had no colour fade or shrinkage or anything else adverse going on.
This is smart, comfortable bedding and I think the price for what it is and the fact that it is kingsize set size too is brilliant value for money and I wouldn't hesitate in recomending this if your after an easy to care for, plain and value priced set!
Only available in Argos stores and it lots of different colour options too.
I've recently been sprucing up my bedroom mainly with the help of the Argos Colour Match Range. I love everything to be colour coordinated and my bag is always full of paint samples, wallpaper samples and at one point a piece of carpet. The colour match range offers all sorts of household items in the same colour, ideal for a saddo like me.
I had bought a new duvet and wanted a couple of new covers to go with it. I bought 2 from this range, a jet black one and funky fuchsia. I an reviewing the jet black one.
The colour match jet black duvet set comes packaged with a simple cellophane wrapping with a thin card band around it. Nothing fancy but at just £14.99 for a king-sized duvet set I wasn't expecting too much.
The duvet set comes with cover and 2 pillowcases and they are made from a polycotton fabric, 50% cotton and 50% polyester. They duvet cover measures approximately 230cm x 220cm's, and it fits my king sized duvet perfectly.
The colour is described as jet black however when I unpacked it I wouldn't personally describe it as jet black I wouldn't call it more a very dark grey/black, however this wasn't a problem for me as I liked the colour and it coordinated with my other bedding. The duvet cover has an opening of 120cm'swhich is closed with poppers rather than buttons.
The pillowcases measure 73cm x 46cm's and have a flap over type closing, I prefer this rather than just an open end because somehow Mark always manages to remove the pillowcase in his sleep, with the flap over end the pillow stays securely inside the case. The flap measures 16cm's so there's plenty to tuck in and keep the pillow in place.
Both the pillowcases and the duvet cover are very well made, they have nice neat seams and the stitching appears to be strong. The colour of the pillowcases and the duvet match perfectly, I did buy a set from another shop that had slightly different coloured pillowcases. The material feel nice and soft and washes up very well. I usually wash it on a 30 or 40oC cycle and its fine, it can also be tumble dried and needs little or no ironing.
If you are looking for a good quality duvet cover set then I would recommend taking a look at Argos Colour Match range, they also do single and double sizes and they are available in all the colour match range colours, all 14 of them, . As I mentioned I also have the funky fuchsia colour in a duvet set and the quality is just as good. They are well worth the money.
