      Disadvantages

      Pillowcases

      Tesco pillowcases

I needed several pillowcases for the second pillow on the beds and given that I didn't want to spend a fortune and didn't need fancy ones I turned to tesco direct.

I bought these online at www.tesco.com although they are also available in store. They cost £3.92 for 4 which is an odd price but with free delivery to my local store, clearly a bargain.
The pillow cases come packaged in 2 packs of 2. They are all the same and it seemed strange to me that they are advertised as a pack of 4 but are clearly two packs of two put together probably at a cheaper price.

As advertised they are white and advertised as needing non or very little ironing. This is because they are not pure cotton but are made of 52 per cent polyester and 48 cotton. This was intentional on my part as I find that pure cotton takes too much time to get them completely wrinkle free. I have however found that they do need a bit of ironing to ensure that the inner fold which doubles up over the pillow isn't wrinkly, and so that the material lies properly. They can also be tumble dried without any shrinkage which is a real bonus in the winter months

They fit a standard pillow which is good and measure in at 50 cm by 75cm.
I purposely didn't want anything fancy as the pillows from the duvet sets sit on top of these and they are indeed very plain, almost just two pieces of material sewn together. However that said they are good quality and whilst not the thickest pillow cases I have ever bought they are perfectly functional and of good quality.

      VERDICT...

These are decent enough pillow cases which have served their purpose well for several months. Well designed, when on, they hold the pillow in place with the inner overlap, o I can't see the pillow sneaking out of the pillow case. I have washed and dried them many times and they haven't discoloured or shrunk, and I am sure they have lots of life left in them

Great value pillowcases; at less than £1 a pillowcase, it really is hard to grumble.
      Thanks for reading
