~The Sanderson Victoria range~
The Sanderson Victoria bedding range comprises of a number of quality items including duvet covers, curtains, oxford pillow cases, house wife pillow cases, beaded cushions and throws etc which are all very stylish and luxurious to look at as well as being very durable and well made. The pillow cases from the Victoria range can be bought as a stand alone item rather than as part of a bedding set so they each come packed in individual plastic cases which keeps them nice and relatively crease free.
When I suggested a number of items from the range to review on Dooyoo, including the Sanderson Victoria Oxford Pillowcases that I have, I did supply a link to a picture of the set in all its glory. Sadly that has not been displayed here which means that in order to fully appreciate what the material and finish is like I would suggest a visit to the following page http://www.justlinen.co.uk and type in Sanderson Victoria in the enquiry box, which will give an idea of how very stunning the whole set looks when in place. The item that forms this review is the Sanderson Victoria Oxford Pillowcase although there is another style of pillow case that is available to buy.
~ A little about the pillowcases~
The lovely caramel toffee tones used to make the Sanderson Victoria Oxford Pillowcases gives a very warm and inviting feel to them and the ornate style of the material really does look amazing in these colours. The main body of the Sanderson Victoria Oxford Pillowcases uses the jacquard material as the main face of the pillows and it is this which makes up the front of the case, with a border design made from a silky type material that runs all around the inner edge of the pillow cases. This silky material has a nice sheen to it that has a lovely golden caramel colour and when it is in brighter lighting conditions it gives a shimmery look that is very pretty.
The intricate textures and details used in the wonderful caramel toned jacquard material looks amazing if you have the matching items from the range set out in a room setting and I feel it gives a very classy look that can be easily matched in with todays modern design themes. I have the full bed set along with the curtains that go with the Sanderson Victoria Oxford Pillowcases and as I purchased a total of 6 cases I feel more than able to say that they not only look stunning when on your pillows, they are also comfortable to sleep on and very easy to care for.
~Care and ease of use~
The Sanderson Victoria Oxford Pillowcases are easy to slip onto a pillow when wanting to put them on and use them and they have the usual envelope style end closure to them that you find on most pillow cases. The top face of the Sanderson Victoria Oxford Pillowcases shows the jacquard material and the bottom face has a sheeting style cotton mix material on it that is much smoother. You can keep the front face of the Sanderson Victoria Oxford Pillowcases for display only if wanted and them turn them over to show the cotton mix side to use them to sleep on if you aren't too keen on resting your head on the a textured material. I have tried these out both ways and I find that either side works well enough.
When washing and cleaning the Sanderson Victoria Oxford Pillowcases I tend to make sure I only wash items from the same set together. I cannot really say that I have noticed any colour fading at all so far with this item and that may be down to the fact that these cases are only ever washed with other items from the same range which are the same colour. I find that the cases will come up fine when washed on a 40 degree wash cycle and having regularly tumble dried the Sanderson Victoria Oxford Pillowcases I feel that I am able to say they have suffered no ill effects from having been tumbled dry rather than line dried.
Once out of the dryer all that is needed is a light iron and the Sanderson Victoria Oxford Pillowcases are ready to be used. Whilst this type of material can be used without being ironed over lightly if wanted, I find that due to the silky border on the cases they do need a light iron over so as to make sure that part is sitting right, as it makes for a neater finish when in use. Over all I feel that I am more than happy with how well the Sanderson Victoria Oxford Pillowcases have performed in use and there has been no fraying or coming apart of the stitching that I have noticed.
~Price and rating~
The price of the Sanderson Victoria Oxford Pillowcases at full RRP is £19.97 each and whilst that may seem like a large amount of money for one little pillow case I do feel that this is a quality item that should last for a number of years. There are discounts available and I have seen this on sale online for half the price mentioned here, which is very good value for something from this range. The lovely caramel toffee jacquard material used in the rest of the range is finished in some cases with a smart and neat rope trim, the same poly silk border detail as the pillow cases have and in the case of the cushions a sequin detail completes the look. As I really like the Victoria range of items I have I feel that the Sanderson Victoria Oxford Pillowcases ought to get a 5 star product rating.
