“ Brand: Silentnight / Product Type: Duvet „
I was on the lookout for a new reasonably priced duvet a few months back and was about to order one online when I spotted this luxury satin stripe duvet by Silentnight on sale at my local Asda store. The fact it was reduced at the time, as well as being a good brand, were the key factors which led to me making my purchase and I bought a double sized duvet for just £17 instead of the usual £22 price.
I thought it seemed nice enough after reading the information on the packaging and certainly seemed better quality than the budget priced duvets on sale. I didn't want to pay a lot of money for a new duvet, but did want one which would be of decent quality and provide good value for money and I thought this could be just what I was looking for.
This duvet is 10.5 tog which was my only slight doubt about my purchase as my previous duvet was 13 tog and so I was somewhat concerned it wouldn't provide me with enough warmth. I need not have worried however, as I haven't noticed any difference despite this being a lesser tog rating and we have had some very cold nights recently.
Silentnight's luxury satin stripe duvet comes in a range of sizes and has a soft touch microfibre cover and is filled with cirrus fibre. Silentnight describe this cirrus fibre as 'clever' because it takes moisture away from the body, leaving you dry and cool and perfectly acclimatised for a great night's sleep. The duvet is also quite stylish with its attractive stripe embossed onto the cover, which gives it an added touch of luxury. Of course you cannot see this when your duvet is hidden away inside a duvet cover, but I was impressed with the overall look and feel of the duvet and this was why I was certain I wouldn't regret my decision to purchase it despite its tog rating.
This duvet is also non allergenic and machine washable at 40 degrees for your convenience.
I have been using this duvet since my purchase and cannot find anything negative to say about it. It works extremely well at keeping me cool during warmer temperatures and warm during colder nights and therefore I find it suitable to use all year round without having to have a separate 'summer duvet' during warmer months.
It has quite a light and airy feel compared to my previous duvet and I was initially worried I would not be warm enough, but this is not the case. The fibre works very well and because it is lighter than my previous duvet I personally find I am more comfortable in bed, as I do not like the feel of heavy bedding or duvets on top of me, but do still want to be warm enough of course.
I also find it easier to place inside a duvet cover due to its lighter feel too!
I would go as far as to say this is the best duvet I have ever bought. The fact it is light but so warm is a big bonus for me and I am happy to recommend this duvet to anyone. It is available in single, double and king sizes and the current prices are £17, £22 and £25 respectively from Asda where I purchased mine.
Although I purchased mine when it was five pounds cheaper due to a promotional offer in store at the time, I would be more than happy to pay the full price as this really is a great duvet.
I am happy to recommend Silentnight Luxury Satin Stripe Duvet to everyone, it gets 5 stars from me.
