      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      Really lovely bedding.

I have a bit of a bedding obsession, I have so many different set for all of our beds but to add to my collection my nan buys me a new duvet set for Christmas every year.

Last Christmas I had Wilko's Bird Print bedding which is very funky and I love it and the year before I had this Glamour Ophelia duvet set, I was then living in my previous home and my bedroom was decorated in pink, black and white with pink and black damask type wallpaper on the feature wall, so this bedding was quite a good match although it is purple.

I had the set in the double size and it consisted of a duvet cover and two pillow cases. The main colour (background) is purple and the damask print is in a nice fuchsia pink colour, it looks very modern and really brightens up a room.

My quilt is quiet thick and sumptuous and the pillows are also quite plump, we have six pillows on the bed in total and 2 are in black cases, 2 in pink and the next 2 are in whatever covers I put on the bed, so the colours in this duvet set matched nicely with the pillow cases on the bed already.
Using this duvet set on the bed made it look really posh and cosy.

The print is quite large and it is really attractive, the material is quite hard when first taken out of the plastic packaging but when washed, dried and ironed it felt great, the material is quite thick and not flimsy like some cheap quality bedding and I have been very pleased with it. Sadly it is now on a shelf in the airing cupboard as my new bedroom is now decorated in teal and white but because I like the pattern so much I will keep it for when I re-decorate.

It cost around £15, maybe a bit less and it was money well spent.

      Thanks for reading x

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      A reasonably priced duvet set

When it comes to my bedroom I am constantly changing the bed covers to make a nice change. When we moved into the house we modernised the décor which was great to do but I can get bored quite easily so for me changing the bed linen every now and then makes the room seem new again. However, this can be an expensive hobby!

Whilst in my local Wilkinsons a few weeks ago I had a wonder down their homewares aisle and had a browse at their bed linen collection. I was amazed firstly at the choice and secondly the prices which were incredibly reasonable if not bordering on cheap. A bed linen set caught my eye which was a deep purple which would go very nicely in my bedroom.

      ** Colour and Design **

The technical name for the colour of the duvet set is aubergine and has a large flock design in a beautiful cerise colour. It is reversible so on the other side the duvet is cerise and the flock design is aubergine. The flock design covers the whole duvet which is nice as they really do make a statement being big and bold.

      ** The Duvet Set **

I bought the kingsize set which comes complete with two matching pillowcases and one duvet cover.

On opening the packaging and getting the duvet set out I noticed that the fabric was actually quite tough and stiff. This is something I expected as it has been packaged and unwashed. On washing it I noticed that for the entire wash cycle the water was a rich cerise colour. I did tumble dry the duvet set and even though it was softer than before it wasn't as soft as I would of liked, it still seemed a bit tough. May be with a bit of use it would soften up.

One good thing I found about this duvet cover because it was slightly tough it was a lot easier to put on the duvet. I had no trouble at all and best of all the sizing is perfect. I have no empty corners! The duvet cover fastens with small deep purple buttons but be careful as they don't seem sewn on that securely and the set does not come with spares.

After having the duvet set for a few days I did notice the fabric softened up and certainly wasn't too stiff anymore. The pillowcases are the same as the duvet, tough to start off with but eventually were lovely and soft.

      ** Fabric and Washing **

      52% polyester
      48% cotton

Wilkinsons recommends that it is washed at 40° and wash similar colours together.

      ** Size **

      Kingsize - duvet cover 200cm x 200cm and pillowcases 50cm x 75cm
      ** Price and Availability **

The Glamour Ophelia Kingsize duvet set is only available in Wilkinsons both in store and online. It costs a very reasonable £15.00. There is also a wide selection of sheets and pillowcases in matching colours also at very reasonable prices.

      ** Overall **

A lovely duvet set which really does add a modern touch to any bedroom with the gorgeous flock design and the vibrant colours. The duvet set washes easily (just put similar colours together as the colour does run!) and can go in the tumble dryer on a cool heat. It does need ironing which is a doddle as I found it irons really well leaving no creases behind. I have washed this set several times now and the colour hasn't faded and is still just as vibrant as when I first purchased it. It doesn't shrink either and I find that I prefer to wash it at 30°.

Albeit the fabric is a bit tough to start off with but for £15.00 I wasn't expecting baby softness and eventually the fabric does become a lot softer and after every wash I have found it softens up. The duvet cover is very well sized as I have found some kingsize duvet covers can be either too large or too small and this is spot on for size. However, the pillowcases are a little large for my pillowcases which is hardly a big issue!

Overall, a very well priced duvet set which adds a bit of glamour to my bedroom!
