... (BCA - Real Ale in a bottle) as it contains no yeast. The taste you get is pretty well exactly as it comes out of the brewery, as opposed to BCAs that do contain residual yeast from the brewing process and which continue to evolve in the bottle. I must admit that I am not “precious” about the distinction, which you may find strange considering my CAMRA association. Around Christmas and New Year my stock of ales tends to increase either through the generosity of friends and relatives who know that as a CAMRA member I like my beer or because this is the time when I can settle down to try some of the rarer and more unusual products from breweries all around the UK, and indeed, the World. This year the replenishments were down to me as my pressies this year centred around my other favourite, Scotch Malt whiskies.
