Advantages: A classic , the packaging is instantly recognisable, crisp and refreshing
Disadvantages: Can be too bubbly and gassy for some people
Genuinely this is my favourite beer EVER ! Sure I sometimes stray into other beers that tempt me to the dark side, beers like Fosters or even more premium beers likes staro or Peroni. But I always come back to bud when it matters.
Bud is a relatively light tasting beer, very bubbly, some people say that this is one reason why they dont like it but I think its one of the beers better features. Its extremely refreshing and crisp tasting. You know when beer adverts say that this is what their product tastes like this but rarely they do. Well I can see undisputably that I think Bud is one of the few beers that do tastelike this and the first bottle is always the best. I sometimes do get the same crisp and refreshing effect with Coors silver bullet, but I dont think that bottle after bottle it doesnt taste as nice as bud.
The bottle is unmistakable , the classic brown bottle with the bud eagle emblem embossed all around the upper curved eage. You can get bigger sized bottles occasionally but most bud packs either come with the classic 300 ml size or 500 ml cans, but these are rarer to see. You can also get Bud on draught ut when I had it on draught in Ireland I wasnt very impressed but im not going to take the marking down for this as with draught its hard to say whether the beer just doesnt transfer well to barrel based or whether the landlord hasnt cleaned the pipes properly and so as I result suffer.
Budweiser is also brewerd in Europe , in the land of the czech under then name of budvar (budweiser) but do not be decieved in terms of companies it isnt the same company, but the name simularity comes from the fact that the beer is brewed in that region using the same techniques and recipe mix. But personally I think the budvar variant is a bit stonger and harsher tasting, being from czech I think it aims for this difference.
A great brew from 1851, bud created the whole 'Born on' and insist that customers drink it from up to 110 days of this date to preserve freshness. Bud is a 5% lager so it can keep up with milder european beers. And for the american market there is bud light at 3% this is essentialy pee water and any european worth their salt would not touch it. The americans cant drink , end of story, ive been there many times and have regularly drunk huge american football player sized guys under the table, and I ant big, they drink bud light for every bottle I drunk of regular because that 3% hit is their standard ! Anyway I do like the american style aluminium long bottle that comes in red or blue for regular strength and light respectively, very light feeling and it looks cool. It also holds the CO2 in well.
The label hasnt changed much in 150 years and prior bottles/cans are antiques now. I like this fact and I think it gives the beer more gravitas. It lloks genuine and classic much like most of the older alchoholic drinks.
Summary: Got to be on of the best beers in the world
