Intro
------
Carling lager is definately the cheap of the cheap when it comes to Lager. It is a bearable product but i do not believe that it has anything on the more premium lagers such as Cobra or Peroni.
However, you get what you pay for when it comes to lager and this is certainly true in this case. Carling is dirt cheap, meaning that it does offer really good value for money.
Strength
-----------
At 4.1 % carling is a fairly mild lager. You can usually pick up lagers for around the 5% mark so it is definately on the weaker side. Obviously, this means a slightly milder taste which makes it a good beer if you are planning on having quite a few cans. Obviously, if you just fancy one or two, this probably is not the best choice.
Price
------
Easily the best aspect of this lager. Last week me and my friends were playing the super saturday drinking game, we needed a lot of beer each. We all headed down to the local co - op and even in a fairly small supermarket managed to pick up an 8 pack for just £6. This obviously is great value for money, and a similar price to that you would pay on draft.
Taste
-------
As i have already mentioned, the weak fact of carling means that the taste is quite mild. It also usually tastes quite flat to me and therefore has to be served ice cold. A fact that carling themselves have realised with their new ice cold cans.
Summary
-----------
A good, cheap beer that offers good value for money if you do not mind tolerating a less nice taste than some of the more premium beers.
Summary: 4 stars
