...Introduction... As my mum said she was going up to our local coop I decided that I would join her and see what deals they had on lagers. I decided on a buy one get one free on Grolsch. 8 Bottles for just £4.99. Not bad at all. It was a while since I had one of these bottles so that was one of the reasons why i decided on choosing Grolsch. As you will probably know already, Grolsch is a Dutch Lager and is known for it's interesting advertising campaigns. The story of Grolsch goes way back to 1615 when Willem Neerfeldt opened a brewery in The town of Groenlo was then known as Grolle, hence the name Grolsch. ...The ... Read the complete review

Whilst I pride myself on having tried a huge variety of lagers, both the 'premium' kinds widely available in supermarkets and pubs across the country, and the more specialist German and Belgian types only available from niche outlets, I am, whilst at home, a creature of habit, and find myself almost universally drinking Stella Artois. It was therefore with a degree of trepidation that today I purchased 8 cans of Grolsh from Sainsbury's. My reasoning was simple - Stella (for the first time I can remember) wasn't on any kind of special offer, and Grolsh was (currently two 4-packs of 440ml cans for £7). I've had Grolsh plenty of times before, but almost ... Read the complete review

Grolsch is currently on offer at the Co-op - 4 x 275 ml bottles on Buy One Get One Free, priced at 4 pounds 99 p, so 8 bottles for the price of 4. I'm partial to the odd bottle of lager, and couldn't resist this one. What is it? Grolsch is a premium Dutch lager that has been brewed since 1615. It is available in cans and bottles, and occasionally in pubs on draught, though this is fairly rare. Packaging: The 275 ml bottles are green and recyclable. The Grolsch logo is ingrained on the bottle, and there is a small label on the neck of the bottle. Appearance: When pouring the beer into a tilted glass, it has a very appealing golden lager ... Mmm... Nothing I like more than whiling away the hours sunbathing on the deckchair in my garden, with a captivating magazine, catching up on my weekly soap goss and blaring out Blur tracks from my stereo. All this whilst taking my time over a nice long cool refreshing bottle of Grolsch Premium Lager. While everyone else is wishing time away at work! Bliss! Well, that's what I've been doing today. The only reason I've come inside is because it's nearing Neighbours time and I thought I'd leave myself enough time just to make a point of telling everyone what an enjoyable day I've had. Now the reason I'm so merry right at this ... Read the complete review

Well its probably my fault that this lager is infact listed under the wrong country for it is I who nominated it. Its actually brewed in Holland, just outside the German border, or at least thats where it originated. Now its brewed across the globe and we here in the Uk have our very own brewery for the brand. At 5% the drink is certainly a strong lager, beating even (the not so lovely) Stella. This means that if you are lucky enough to find it on tap anywhere then you're in for a good night. Alas my poor elephant discovered this lager before me and unwittingly drank it like it was shandy... he ended up singing about Giraffes as he roamed ... Read the complete review
