“ Brand: Grudziadz / Beer: Strong Lager / Poland / Type: Lager „
When it comes to the Rotmistrz Mocny (strong) beer from the Kunter brewery in Grudziadz, there are now definitely noticeable difference, firstly the packaging is red rather than green although it still features exactly the same design. The bottle is darker, the beer is darker and this time the malt taste overtakes the hops , leaving it with a rather sweet and sickly taste which could be quite an acquired taste.
As far as Polish Mocny beers goes, it has a relatively average alcohol percentage of 7.0% and is neither light weight nor rocket fuel, it's golden ambery coloured foam looks quite impressive with a large foamy white head on the top - a bit of a standard when it comes to the Rotmistrz range. Though like the others beers in the range, this head does tend to disintegrate like the Newcastle defence at the hands of a better team (that is most of the football league)
It's certainly acceptable, it's not ridiculously sweet but it is a little bit that way inclined and makes me pull a funny face which I assume is probably not a good thing, there's something slightly acidic about the taste. If you do come across the Rotmistrz beers - try the Pils or Premium instead, is my advice unless specifically looking for a sweet acidic buzz!
