Advantages: Slightly cheaper than branded ginger beer.

Disadvantages: Doesn't taste as good as others.

Me and my husband bought this last week, as it was on a good offer.

We purchased 3 500ml bottles for £5.00, The crabbies is sometimes on this offer too, but we thought as this was on the same offer we would try it.

The usual price of this Sainsbury's one is £1.83 a bottle, and Crabbies is £2.04, so it's not actually that big of a difference considering the great reputation that Crabbies has and deservedly so.

The alcoholic volume of this is 4%, and it is also 2 units.

The bottle said taste the difference, so I was expecting it to be at least on a par with Crabbies, however it really wasn't.

The taste of this is quite weak, and it doesn't have that real fiery ginger kick that Crabbies has. It was good on the fizz front though and still very refreshing, but I think it was a lot milder then Crabbies.

I guess if you are not a massive fan of ginger, then maybe this would be for you, but if you like the taste f it I would stick to Crabbies.

I personally think if this was cheaper it would be a good alternative to Crabbies, but it just wasn't up to scratch for me or my husband, so it's definitely worth paying the extra 20p a bottle for the brand name, which I really hate to say as usually I am all for Sainsbury's own brand and taste the difference products.

Even with the offer I don't think I would buy this again.

Summary: Not really worth the saving.
