Advantages: cheap nice flavour,

Disadvantages: none

I've never really been a big cider drinker until I discovered fruity ciders like Kopparberg and Bulmers. I've drank Stella lager in the past and found it to be quite nice so when I saw the adverts for their new cidre I knew I wanted to try it. I wasn't sure what to expect as this is the first cider they've made so I did think perhaps they should stick to what they're good at.

The cidre looks really good quality looking at the bottle. It's a clear glass bottle with gold labels stating the Stella Artois logo on it. There is gold foil around the bottle top which makes it look quite posh and high standard. There's a bit of information on the back label on the bottle. Similarly to a beer bottle, you need to use a bottle opener to get the lid off.

You can pour this into a glass and add ice if you prefer but I don't like to do this, I find ice waters the taste down as I drink quite slowly too. I tend to keep the bottle in the fridge then just drink it from the bottle itself.

The cider itself is crisp and fresh tasting. It is bubbly but I didn't find it to be too gassy which is my normal concern with these kinds of ciders. It is a really refreshing taste and isn't too sweet or too bitter. I think this cidre is definitely best served really cold. This is the nicest non-fruity cidre that I've tried.

You can buy this cidre in individual bottles from offlicenses and big stores for about £1.50 or you can buy a case of 8 568ml bottles for £8.00. They do this cidre in cans too, £3.50 for four from Asda but I definitely prefer to drink it out of a bottle. It's a popular drink now so you can get it from most shops and in most pubs and bars too.

Overall, I was impressed with this cidre. It's really nice to drink and refreshing, perfect for the beer garden in the summer. I'd like to see Stella making more cidres, perhaps a pear cidre or mixed fruit as this would appeal to me even more. I'd definitely recommend trying this, even if you're not a big cider fan as it is a good quality drink, and it's quite cheap too!

Summary: I like this cidre a lot! Well done Stella
