There is a tendecy for it to be overly chilled especially as they also tend to chill the glass and I find that this sometimes masks the flavour of the beer. The true flavour is sometimes only found just before you finish your last gulp and the beer has warmed up sufficiently.
The beer itself is not too bitter but is well rounded in flavour from the initial sip to the final taste in your mouth after drinking. It is probably somewhere between Stella and Becks.

If you travel to Austria on your holdays and order a beer I expect that 9 times out of ten you will probably be served with Stiegl lager. It is a very light tasting beer and is not overly gassy so it is really pleasant and easy to drink. It usually comes in a choice of three sizes - 0.2l, 0.3l and 05l. The latter two are the closest to half pint and one pint measures.
