Strongbow

Rating:

Advantages: Cheap, good alcoholic percentage

Disadvantages: Bad taste, very bloating

Background:

Strongbow is a mass produced Cider, strongbow comes in a few forms, there is original (can be bought in 2l bottles or standard cans) - strongbow Sirrus which is a smoother cider than its fizzy original counterpart.

Price:

Strongbows appeal is most down to the fact that it is a cheap cider that packs quite a punch in terms of alcohol percentage of 5.3. This is good for the relatively cheap price tag, the quality of the drink reflects its price tag.

Taste:

Strongbow does NOT have a good taste, its appeal like I have said is in its price tag. It is a very bloating drink (Sirrus version is not excellent) that means you cannot drink too much of the stuff, it also leaves a horrible taste in the back of your throat that lingers for a long while. Compared to other Ciders (with the exception of white lightning, Scrumpy Jack and Ye olde English - cheap Cider's) Strongbow does not stack up, in many pubs around they will offer a different Cider that will undoubtedly have a greater taste (unique to itself) but may cost more (not all the time though, you can find a great Cider that is cheaper than strongbow such as Old Rosie - Weatherspoons).

Overall:

Strongbow is great for drinking on the cheap at home, however, there are other ciders that are so much better and can be cheaper in pubs. The taste leaves a lot to be desired.

Summary: Avoid at all costs
