“ 2000 model. „
Purchased this Super V 700SX new in 2000 for $1800.00 and decided to upgrade the rear V brake to a Coda disc to match the front bringing the price to just over 2K. This bike is rock solid at speed and plush in technical track. If it has a weakness I could Identify three areas. First, the Coda discs of this year work just ok in as far as their ability to haul you down from a steep decsent and you will cook the pads in a short order. I get four rides out of them and then have to shell out $55.00 to replace the brake pads. There are two compounds and both go just as quick. The pads are to thin and just don't take the heat cycles. Second weakness is that the rear will bob more than I feel it should, however an upgraded shock may cure this occurance. Third, watch for seal leaks in the fork, I've done mine more than a few time over the past eight yrs. Despite the mechanical short comings which an upgrade here or there would fix and the weight factor, this is one I'll keep if for no other reason than the frame is pure art work.
