      A great pretty bike

Last Christmas, we decided that Laurens main present was going to be a new bike, loving Disney we decided to get something themed.

I spotted this one at Halford and decided we must have it - the main reason was the colours. The frame of the bike is white with the seats, handle bars and decorative items being either red or red and white spots.

The bike currently retail for around £90 and I have not seen it available anywhere else except for Halfords. At the time, we paid around £70 as there was an offer of around 20% off all bikes. Halfords offer a reserve and collect service if you wanted to make sure you don't have a wasted journey or delivery id free if you spend over £30.

Having carried out research before buying, I was really happy to find that Halfords offer a free build service, I am hopeless at assembling anything and although it doesn't phase my other half, it made like a lot easier and it was one less thing to have to do on the run up to Christmas. To take advantage of this service, we simply paid and then agreed to return the following week to collect the fully assembled bike. They also offer a service on all bike so after a couple of months, we took it back to them for the once over so they could make sure everything was ok - I like this idea as it gave me the extra piece of mind, especially as it was a 4 year old child that was using.

On Christmas morning, Laurens little face was a picture, after this Christmas, I learnt to leave the best present until last, she opened this one first and that was it, she wasn't interested in the other present piled high! As soon as she realised there was a baby seat, she went back upstairs to find Baby Annabel'.

I would say Laurens favourite aspect is the baby carry seat on the back, although I had reservations around Lauren being distracted and turning around, this didn't happen. Lauren loves strapping one of her babies or even one of her Minnie Mouse teddies into the back, putting her helmet on and riding around the garden.

To the front of the bike, there is a red handle bar plaque which has a cute little picture of Minnie on. The Chain Guard also is also red with a picture of Minnie lying down, Whilst the chain guard looks pretty, it also acts as a good safety feature making sure Lauren cannot poke her fingers or catch her clothing where she shouldn't.

The seat is easy to adjust, meaning as Lauren grew, we could adjust with her however the seat cannot be tilted in anyway. The seat is quite soft and Lauren found it easy to position herself on.

The tyres are black which is great, as it means we couldn't really tell when the bike had been used like you can with the brilliant white tyres, the tread is really quite deep and we have never experienced any gripping issues. The brakes seems to work fine, although we don't tend to let Lauren out of arms reach when she is riding, she has never experienced any issues in stopping, nor has she 'shot over the handle bars' by breaking too hard. The frame also has a red padded cover which has 'Minnie Mouse' written on, as well as looking nice, this has made sure Lauren hasn't banged herself when getting on or off her bike.

Although we haven't mastered riding without the stabilisers, these are really easy to remove (and add back on as we found after trying later last year). You do have to be careful that they are level when re-attaching though, I didn't realise you could adjust the stabilisers to different heights (I am not sure why you would do this) but I ended up make one side higher than the other which caused Lauren to be a little unstable.

The only downside of the bike is it is only available with 12 inch wheels, Lauren is quite tall for her age and I am finding now that she is getting little too big for the bike, I would happily buy another one if they had a bigger size but as they don't, I have to now look for a new design.

The bike has proved to be an excellent buy and we have definitely had 'our moneys worth'. The paintwork hasn't faded and there are very few chips in the paintwork so overall, I would recommend and give 5 out of 5 stars.

Thanks for reading and I hope this helps.
