Advantages: Sturdy and robust. Colourful and fun.

Disadvantages: Peddles slightly too far away. General wear and Tear.

Last year my daughter turned three and we decided to buy her her first bike. At the time she loved the childrens tv show Fifi and the Flowertots, so when I saw this Fifi toddler bike by Halsall discounted I thought it would be perfect for her.

Assembly was easy and I think it took my partner around 15-20 minutes.

The bike is for ages 3+ and I would say it makes an ideal first bike. It comes with stabilisers which can be easily removed and both the seat and handlebars can be adjusted to suit the childs size. The main frame is a vibrant pink whilst the seat, handlebars, pedals and wheels are bright yellow. The steel frame is strong and robust and is 10". On the front of the bike is a plastic attached with a picture of Fifi on and there are Fifi stickers along the frame. There is no chain on the bike, instead the pedals are attached to the front wheel.

We have had it for nearly year and have been very happy with it.  That being said I do have a few niggles with this bike. Firstly the pedals do seem a bit far away and think this could be a bit of a problem for smaller children. Also, there is a plastic part covering the handlebar join which often pops off revealing the bolt underneath. Since the stickers and picture of Fifi on the front of the bike are made of paper they have ripped and faded but I put this down to simple wear and tear. On the whole i have been very happy with this bike and my daughter absolutely loves it. I think it will last her at least another year. I believe this is very good value for money and would recommend it to anyone looking for a first bike for their daughter.

This bike is currently unavailable on sites such as Amazon and Tesco, however I have seen it recently in shops like B&M for around £30. I bought my daughters new from a seller on ebay for £20. They had a few for sale and it was discounted because the packaging was damaged which didn't bother me as I planned on assembling it before it was given to my daughter anyways.  I have seen them pop up on ebay varying in price, currently one can be found new and boxed for £30.00 (postage prices apply). The same bike is also available with other characters such as Hello Kitty and Minnie Mouse.
