On a recent effort to make the house look nice - I purchased this little stainless steel bin to go in the bathroom. It's only 5 litres in size (20cm diameter, 28.5cm high) so is only really suitable for use somewhere like a bathroom or bedroom.

First impressions were very good - it looks expensive and shiny. Inside is a black plastic 'bucket' with a metal handle, that you can simply lift out and tip into a black bag whenever necessary, however I've always found that things tend to get stuck in the bottom of bins, so I tend to line mine with an old carrier bag, which is the perfect size.

This is a pedal bin so the idea is to stand on the pedal and make the lid spring up, I have found that the lid is quite tight fitting and as the bin is so small, it just tends to tip forwards when you push the pedal and takes a bit of encouragement to open properly which is slightly inconvenient. I now just tend to open the lid with my hand as it's quicker, but it does mean you get fingerprint marks all over the stainless steel.

As I said earlier 5 litres is on the small side, but we rarely fill it up over the course of a week - which consists of 3 people living in the house so there's usually a couple of loo roll tubes and empty shower gel bottles etc in there. A large family may fill this up alot quicker, so might want to consider a larger bin.

Cost wise this set me back the grand price of £5.99 which I think is a fair price to pay for a nice looking bin, even if it isn't the most practical and I will certainly consider getting another one when I finally turn our third bedroom into an office for my business.

I would recommend this bin to anyone who wants a small, stylish and cheap bin as you can't go too far wrong for the price.
