“ Brand: Asda / Product Type: Kitchen Bin „
I had a huge sort out of the house last weekend in anticipation of Christmas (early I know) I had a lot of clothes that I have kept for years that didn't fit and also a lot of toys and books which I wanted to bag and donate to the local charity shop.
I had been using Tesco Everyday Value bags which were awful and they kept ripping so in went to the closest supermarket which was Asda to buy some stronger bags. I came across these bags in two different sized rolls 15 bags for £2 or 30 bags for £3. I picked the larger packet as I felt this was better value.
The bags come in a roll which is surrounded by a paper sticker that tells me that these are Asda Chosen by You. The bags have a 50 litre capacity and the label tells me that they are two ply thickness and they also have an anti leak resistant base.
The bags measure 120cm by 76cm.
To get a bag off the roll you simply unwind one and tear it off using the perforations. Straight away I could tell these bags were good quality. They were thick and I felt confident that they were up for the task in hand.
I filled the first bag with a load of jeans and then pulled the drawstring before securing in a knot.
The bags are really convenient as they have the drawstring ties at the top this for me makes them easier to carry around the house or if I use them in the bin easier to get the bag out of the bin and it is much easier than having to tie a knot in a full bin bag.
I would buy these bin bags again, they hold a lot they are really strong and it took an awful lot to tear/rip them.
5 stars from me.
I have a 30 litre Brabantia kitchen bin and when I bought it a pack of Brabantia bin liners were included. Although I had no complaints with the Brabantia liners, I nearly fainted when I saw the price of them. I noticed that ASDA made 30 litre bin liners and it even said on the front of the pack that they were suitable for Brabantia bins, so I decided I'd give them a try.
The liners are drawstring, they measure 900mm x 760mm and they're 2-ply strength which according to the packet is so one layer offers strength the other stretch. The liners come on a roll and the first time I used these I thought I'd bought the wrong size. The reason is that instead of being joined at the base, the liners are folded up and joined side by side.
The liners are white and the drawstring is threaded through the top, and there are two little tabs through which you pull the drawstring once the liners are ready to remove. I find that they are a perfect fit for my bin...the top folds over the top of the bin to offer a snug fit. These are for tall bins, and I found them the perfect length as well as width.
When it comes to removing the liners, the only minor issue I have is that it is sometimes difficult to see the two tabs which release the drawstring. On the Brabantia liners, the drawstring was a dark grey so it was easy to spot, with these ones the drawstring is a very pale colour, so I sometimes can't find it! The drawstring is made from plastic and strong enough for me to lift the bag all of the way out of the bin and carry it to the wheelie bin outside.
I find these bags to be very durable. I have been using them for several months and although there was one occasion when something sharp poked through the side of the bag, I've never had one split on me, and so I think the quality is excellent.
A packet of 20 bin bags costs £2.03. Whilst not the cheapest liners on offer, I don't feel they are excessively expensive and since as a household of two the kitchen bin only gets full twice a week at absolutely maximum, I am happy to pay that price.
Overall, I am very pleased with this product. The liners are strong and durable, the drawstring feature is handy for removing the liners from the bin and they are a perfect fit, so it's a full five stars from me!
