A nice looking bin at a good price

When my old bin was getting old and dirty, I needed a new one but didn't want to spend too much on such a boring purchase. I really like the colour purple so there was already quite a lot of purple in my kitchen. When I saw this bin, I thought it was a nice shade of purple and a reasonable price so I bought it without too much thought- there's nothing exciting about bins or bin shopping!

This bin cost me £12 and really I was looking to spend as little as possible and maybe buy the cheapest bin they had. The plain white Tesco Value 50 litre bin was £8 which isn't a huge saving. I decided to buy this one because it looks so much better and I think the quality is better too.

This bin holds 45 litres which is more than enough in my house, I would call it a large bin. It's useful because it doesn't fill up really fast and need emptying all the time. There is also a non-slip base which is handy because it stops the bin from sliding around and also keeps it more secure. I have found this useful when my hands are full and I'm using the bin, it stays in place making it that little bit easier.

This is a touch top bin so you press a button to lift the lid. This was new to me as I had never had a bin with this feature before. It's called a 'touch top bin' so I assumed it would be a really sensitive button. It isn't a sensitive button but it's still easy to use, the button is small and you just have to press it to make the lid come up so you can put your rubbish in. To be honest, I haven't found that this feature makes things any easier or simpler but I think hygiene is one of the reasons why this exists.

I think the bin looks quite sleek and modern, but it's still simple without any features that I don't need. I like the way this bin looks and I love the colour, I prefer this to the usual silver, black or white bins. The purple colour makes this one a bit more special and stops it being so boring. I like the matte finish and I think it looks more expensive than it is.

The plastic is strong and durable, this bin seems to be long lasting and good quality. I have had no problems with it and it isn't showing any signs of wear which is fantastic. I'm definitely glad that I chose this bin and I think it was good value for money.

I find this bin easy to empty, I haven't had any issues with emptying this bin and the bin bag has always came out easily, I've found the opposite to be true with some of the bins I have owned previously. The lid is very easy to get off, I can lift it off with no effort which is useful and makes the process a little bit quicker which is always a good thing.

I would recommend this bin because it's good looking, good quality and good value for money. It's a little bit different in terms of appearance from a lot of the other bins you can get, I think it would look great in lots of different kitchens and there are other colours available too. I saw this in black, blue, silver, green and this plum colour.

        A great kitchen bin

My old kitchen bin was getting a bit tatty and smelly, so I decided it was time to treat myself to a new one. I can't say I especially like bin shopping, but it's one of those items that no house can be without so I set about on a bin hunt. I don't like paying too much for a bin, so when I saw this one on offer through a web deals website, I decided to give it a try, especially as it came in my favourite colour... purple! The bin is available exclusively through Tesco, although it isn't a Tesco branded product.

The bin itself is fairly good looking for a bin, and I am pleased with how it looks in my kitchen. It's 66 cm tall, so is a large bin which I prefer, as I hate emptying my bin every 5 minutes, and Harry somehow generates loads of rubbish so a bigger bin suits us better. It then has a grey lid that sit on top of the main bin, with a purple lid in the middle that lifts up and down when the push button is depressed. The purple is fairly bright, and the silvery grey lid is a nice contrast to this, and stops it being a bit too bright. I personally like something a bit different from the usual black or grey kitchen bins that you get, and is a nice splash of colour.

The rubbish bin operates with a touch button, something that took a bit of getting used for me because I was used to a swing bin, so I didnt have to push anything to dispose of any waste. The button is fairly small, a little too small if I'm honest, and a bit hard to push which is a shame. I hope that with use, it'll loosen up a bit and become easier to use, but I can still do it with just one finger if I push fairly hard so it isn't all bad! The button is located on the front top of the lid, and is small and grey, with PUSH written on it. This makes the purple bin lid flap go up, and then you can put your rubbish in the bin. The bin lid sort of goes 3/4 of the way up on its own, then I push it up a bit further if I need to, but it is okay on its own.

The bin is easy to empty because the lid doesn't really click on, it more rests on the top and so lifts off easily. The cylindrical shape allows me to slide out a full bin bag with ease, and I've been pleased with how easy it is to get bin bags in and out. I have found Tesco's own large white rubbish bags are a perfect fit, especially around the top where I have found them a bit tight on other bins. I really like the bin, and for the money I paid, which was just under £10, I think it's great value for money and looks nice in your kitchen too. Being plastic, it's easy to keep clean with a warm cloth and a bit of antibacterial spray, and I like that the lid stays closed when it's not being used to keep smells contained. I'd definitely recommend this bin, it's great value for money and is a lovely splash of colour in your kitchen!

The bin is available in selected Tesco stores for £11.99, and you can purchase it online for £9.97, and you can collect for free in your local store as well to save on postage costs!
