Tesco Value Swing Bin Liners
Advantages: None for me
Disadvantages: Everything as far as I'm concerned
I always used to put a black bin liner in my kitchen bin, as I liked to know that the waste I put into the bin could be easily removed once full, without the fear of the bag splitting and rubbish going all over the place. However with prices shooting up and decent black bin liners not being terribly cheap anyway, I decided I had to cut back, so I decided to try these Tesco Value Swing Bin Liners.
~Tesco Value Swing Bin Liners~
These bags come rolled up with perforations to split each individual bag as I use them, there are 40 actual bags on the roll, they are white in color and are made of polyethylene , I find them to be extremely thin but I guess that's just me comparing them to a black bin liner. Each individual bag measures around 27 inches by 13 inches, but this is with the bag flat. the bag does open out a fair way, but I find these bags to be rather tight around the top of my bin, I guess this is because my bin seems to broaden slightly at the top. I have an average sized swing bin in my kitchen, the bags fit but with a squeeze at the top. When I first used the bags, I would fill my bin, probably a bit to much because I struggled to get the full bag out of my bin then the bag would split more often than not. I only continued to use these bags as I wasn't about to waste money, even if it was only 50p that I paid for the bags, making them on average 1.3p per bag but every penny counts as they say.
Personally I don't even think these bags are worth 1.3p each. I continued to use the bags but would only half fill them before I emptied the bin, I think this defeats the object of having a bigger bin in my kitchen, if I can't fill it up properly because the bin bags are rubbish. I would not recommend these swing bin liners, I don't think they are any good at all, at least not as bin bags anyway. Maybe they could be used for other things, but for putting kitchen waste into, I would avoid these bags unless you want a nasty mess on your kitchen floor each time you want to change the bag.
I have since moved on to some other swing bin liners that are a lot thicker and can hold a lot more than these skimpy little things.
These bags are from Tesco, part of the Tesco Value range, they cost me 50p for a roll of 40 bags. Sounds like a bargain but personally I don't think so.
Please remember to keep products such as these away from small children to avoid the risk of suffocation.
1 Star only for these bags, for the purpose I bought them, they were useless.
Thank you for reading my review which may also be posted on other sites.
Summary: These are meant for the bin but not in the way intended
