Advantages: High capacity and cheap

Disadvantages: Hard to clean and looks as cheap as it is to buy

When I was trying to outfit my kitchen I needed to choose a good bin, and I chose to buy this one. But I have to say that the pricipal reason for this choice was obviously - Price. So I went and bought the Tontarelli Bullet Bin

It sells at Argos and most hardward stores like robert dyas for around £12 to £14, Its a long high based bulet bin with rounded top and holds 45 litres, so you dont need to empty it very much, unless its in the summer in which case you will need to probably empty your bin a bit more regularly in the summer...but in the winter this feature is great. The capacity is around three quarters of a black bin liner. leaving you enough capacity to collect up the ends and tie them off.

The lid
Other than the cylindrical shaped bin, the other main componant is the spherical top, or half sphere at least. It has a flip up lid on it thats on a kindve swing mechanism. As this lid isnt exactly the biggest in the world and does not cover the entire top of the bin like most flip ups it does make it slightly hard to put in bigger amounts of rubbish or food, and it tends to get over the sides, making the cleaning of this bin a more regular job then perhaps you would have to do. But it does afford one advantage, I have had full top flip bins in the past and when you have some nasty smells coming out of there when you flip it up its spreads nasty smells all over the kitchen...with this lid hat is no a problem. The lid is black in colour and so this can show up stains less easily then silver or white goods, but its still not ideal and the lip is ideal for grabbing the tops of bin bags

The base
The other componant is the base, which obviously makes up a capacity has a matt finish silvery grey colour and unfortunately this looks and reeks of cheapness, it just looks plasticy and badly put together and although this may be the cae, when you have it in your kitchen you dont want it to look like that. This unattracive finish is a real let down, and because it makes up the majority of this bin it brings the whole look down. It also marks and stains with bits of rubbish and food inside the base far too easily and although it has holes in the base to let running water through and so is easier to clean, its still a nasty job to carry out again and again.

Summary: Not a bad bin really, but it just looks a bit cheap in most kitchens
