      Works a treat

I attend various sporting events including Cricket and Horse Racing at which a good pair of binoculars always comes in very handy. Other purposes too including the local air show and such like, but rarely do my binoculars get used more than 12-15 times a year and after owning this pair for just over 21 months now it's a good time to review them. I had asked for a quality pair of binoculars as a gift two Christmas ago and my mother bought me this stunning little Nikon device that, as I have seen, cost upwards of £130 but at the end of the day you get what you pay for and what I have got here are a quality pair of binoculars.

The first thing that hit me about this was the stylish way they looked. Straight out of the box they impressed me with shape, size and weight. Gone are the days when binoculars have to be massive contraptions and the smaller the better these days making for more portability! And these are just the right size. They feel very compact and robust too, and give me confidence that they will last a long time. The coating and lenses are tough, durable and hard wearing meaning you do not need to tread on eggshells around them. Indeed the attachment cable you get to tie round your neck if needs be is tough too and the whole device, as with everything I have experienced from Nikon, shines of quality. They are also waterproof if that is something which you would make use of.

The Sporter comes with excellent power and at 8x the zoom the picture is clear as crystal. You can go further but then shake starts to happen and although you can see, the focus becomes looser. Nevertheless 8x zoom is more than enough for most purposes and anything up to 8x is so clear is unreal. I have never had a pair of binoculars that produce such a vivid image, it has changed my cricket live watching experience massively and at the races I can now actually tell which horse is which. The lens and zoom quality amazes all who have tried them and I really cannot speak highly enough of it as my words will not do justice to the quality.

Additionally, I seem to always have had issues in the past with the focus falling off and being difficult to get right but on these it's the opposite. The focusing is tight and clear and stays in place. It is easy to get the focus right with some powerful tools behind it and works a treat! The focus stays in place avoiding the need for constant adjustments and in essence provides an all round enjoyable viewing experience.

All in all from the robust design to the amazing clear picture quality and ease with which this provides focus then I cannot recommend this highly enough. Pricey but for anyone who appreciates quality binoculars this is a must see!
