A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ABOUT ALAN:
Alan Carr is a comedian who grew up in Northampton, he is openly gay and is very very camp which most people tend to like about him. He has a tv show on channel 4 called "chatty man" which he brings on celebs to talk about their upcoming stuff and dig out the dirt into their person lives. He first had a TV show with Justin Lee Collins called "The Friday Night Project" which then became "The Sunday Night Project" which was a game and chat show. He struggled as a teenager with being gay but is now a very well respected celebrity for his comedy. He has a comedy DVD out which is called "Alan Carr Tooth Fairy" on which he describes how he looked at a child " Glasses, Braces with the whole head gear and a hearing aid even though I'm not deaf, but I thought I'd get the whole package".
He is currently touring his new comedy act called "Spexy Beast" which will come out on DVD on 14th November 2011.
THIS BOOK:
In this book Alan writes his life down from past to the present. He tells of his struggle growing up but how he writes his story, you forget to feel sad for him and end up laughing along with him. He starts off with his life growing up in Northampton (the town over from me!) and how his father really pushed him to be interested in football just like he is but Alan only rebelled more against this.
Throughout the book you go on a comical journey with him and learn the struggle of him dealing with his sexuality. He is so light hearted about the subject and as a comedian, i'm sure that's how he processes such memories of his life. I don't want to go into too much detail of the book as I know it will spoil the comedy and laughs you will burst with when reading the book. Look out for the middle pages as there are lots of photos of Alan growing up. He really struggled with his teeth and in the photos you will see why!. Alan carr is a brilliant comedian and this book made me love him even futher.
COMEDY:
Alan's comedy sets are mainly about his life or things he's witnessed. I think comedy like that is much more easy to relate to. It takes you on his journey and makes you feel like you know him personally.
