      A Fan Must-have

Steps: Gold: Our Greatest Hits was the last official book from British pop group Steps. The book was released in the United Kingdom in 2001. The book is currently selling for just £0.01 from Amazon which I think is excellent value for money, especially as the book is a hardback.

There are some really good pictures in this book - small ones and big ones which take up whole or double pages. A lot of the pictures are from behind the scenes from their video shoots and some which haven't been staged.

Looking at the photographs, it is interesting seeing the pictures right from the beginning (in the days of 5,6,7,8) right up until the latter days. It is interesting seeing how much they have changed in age as well as fashion.

Despite the fact that the book was released ten years ago, this book will never go out of date as it tells the story of the Steps through their music.

There are twenty eight chapters in this book. Each chapter is dedicated to either a song or one of their tours which is good.

I found this book to be very interesting as I was a huge fan of the band back in the day. What I found intriguing was the fact that at the time of release of their singles, they obviously had to 'big them up' in order to promote them. In the book they say 'ah I wasn't keen on this song or that video' which is quite funny.

At the beginning of each chapter about their songs, for example '5,6,7,8', it gives you the date when the song was released and what position it reached in the charts - a good way of reminding the reader how good and successful they were.

I enjoyed the chapters on their tours as I went to see them a couple of times and so I liked reading about the behind-the-scenes bits.

The book is quite very interesting. The language is simple which means that it is suitable for children. The majority of the writing in this book is interview style which means that it makes a very 'quick' and 'easy' read.

Now that Steps have reunited, I think that a lot of people will be interested in this book as they will be interested to see what Steps were like first time around.

      I definitely recommend this book.

      Thanks for reading!
