I bought this not realizing it was for birds for my chinchillas and they loved it, it last 2 weeks which is a remarkably long time when they usually can chew through anything they like in a matter of days. The ropes are extremely sturdy they pulled and pulled but they never snapped and nuts and treats can be inserted in the rope for a added work out, the wooden toys on the ropes are made wood so they provide hours of entertainment and it easily hooked onto the cage with a sturdy clip at the top that screws to lock in place for added security. I admittedly have had better toys that they can pull around their cages etc but it is ideal for small animals in a simple cage or that spend most of their time one place again i don't know what it wuld be like for a bird but it definetly has my chinchillas seal of approval.
