So after my other blender was not so good at blending, I decided to buy this one, I liked how it came with different attachments. I paid around £40 for this from Argos, but since then Argos has stopped selling this, but you are able to buy it from Amazon for the same price.
Soft touch handle
Stainless steel leg & blades
The blender comes with a blender, 500ml chopper, a whisk, chopper attachment and a 500ml measureing jug. Switching between the attachments is easy, as they are just push and twist to attract them. It has two speeds which are turbo and normal. The blender itself a lovely looking gadget. Its black and the jugs are see through, with the blades being stainless steel.
After my other blending wasn't that good at blending, I was really hoping for good things from this one, as its a well known name and was more expensive.
So after boiling up my carrots and parsnips for my little one, I popped them in, put on the lid and began blending at the highest speed. I was very impressed with the outcome, it was all blended into a purée mixture which was the result I was looking for. I have used this on meats, fish and vegetables and all come out puréed. As my girl got older I was able to blend to different textures aswell such as lumpy and minced. The blending bowl has rubber grips at the bottom of it, so its not slipping when blending.
This is idea if you just want to chop up onions, herbs, making soups and sauces, and blending food so it is puréed.
I have never used the whisk, but my other half has for mash potatoes which he used to whisk them in the saucepan, he said the whisk made the potatoes go really creamy, fluffy and light, and didn't have any problems with it.
The blender does not make much mess, but sometimes if I have made milkshakes and the milk will leak over the sides, but I think that is mainly down to me over filling it.
All the attachments are easy to wash and there's no awkward little pieces to clean, where food gets stuck and such. Plus its dishwasher safe.
Again I have made milkshakes using this, it blended the milk and ice-cream really well together, without no lumps, and the measuring jug comes in very useful for milkshake making as you able to put the contents in the jug.
Overall this a great blender and I wish I would have bought this from the start.
Although I already had a hand blender, I decided to purchase this 3-in-1 hand blender. Firstly because of the great value I thought this offered having three attachments in one package. Secondly the hand blender I already had didn't have a container to blend in.
The hand blender is very powerful and extremely useful for blending sauces to make them smooth without the bits (which is what my blender gets used for most of all!)
The whisk is something which I never would have thought of buying as a seperate item but as part of the set I find I'm using it more than I used my ordinary whisk! The faster setting means whisking egg whites takes but a few minutes.
The chopper again is fantastic. Just so easy to use and surprising how often it does get used!
Another aspect I really like is the metal finishing. It really makes a change from the standard white plastic ones that are available.
My husband has recently got into cooking and as a result he has also got into the purchasing of cooking gadgets, which is turning out to be costly. Although we have a number of mixing/whisking appliances he was convinced that he needed a hand blender (we already have a kitchenaid blender? why we needed another one I wasn't sure). However, as he had vouchers to spend I didn't argue. However, maybe I should have done. This 3 in 1 blender is so powerful that whatever it is you are whisking flies across the room, decorating every surface in your lovely mixture!
The mixer itself retails at around £40 although I am sure that is available on offer from time to time. It has a chopper attachment, a blender attachment and a whisk. It also comes with a large cup which allows you to blend the contents without too much mess and a chopper which flies through items such as onions in seconds. These two attachments are fine. They do the job perfectly and produce fine purees and nicely chopped vegetables. The whisk attachment however, is a law unto itself.
The mixer itself is 400 watts and when whisking the whole 400w go flying through the blender and into your whisk. This is perfect when you want to whisk items such as egg whites perfectly however, as there is only a high and low variable speed control on the machine it is difficult to control how you start whisking. As a result when you are starting with your ingredients they tend to fly all over the place and out of your bowl. Unfortunately the bowl which comes with the blend attachment is too small for successful whisking.
All in all this could be a good gadget however, the lack of speed control makes it difficult and messy to use. As a result I'll stick with one of the many other appliances I seem to have and let the other half carry on with this.
