“ Manufacturer: Kenwood / Speeds: 2 / Type: Worktop / Capacity: 1.6 L „
Kenwood is a name that I trust, particularly when it comes to kitchen appliances. We already had a fair few Kenwood products lurking in our cupboards and this is a blender that we have had for a while now. It does make regular showings, as most of our foods are chopped by hand, but it does come out once in a blue moon. The price tag hovers around forty pounds, putting it in line with the likes of Russell Hobbs et al.
The blender has the usual standard blender shape and form with a removable top section and a detachable mill piece. You simply screw on the lid and clip the base onto the bottom motor section and then you are away. It will run off the mains and the cable length is generous even for those with bigger kitchens.
Due to the large capacity of 1.6 litres, this blender is ideal for preparing foods for families. We have used it to cater for four to six in one go and the generous capacity will allow for a multitude of in ingredients too.
The ingredients can be put in beforehand or you could try to feed them in through the gap at the top. The blender will allow you to choose the speed at which you blend which is handy. The slower speed is better to start things off, then once it breaks things down you can take it up a notch. The cutting action is superior and efficient and breaks down foods quickly. Very effective at blending fruit and vegetables, but just as effective when you work with liquids too. You will have results in a matter of moments.
Cleaning the device is trickier as you have to dismantle the thing and do it bit by bit and this is possibly the only downside for me. The machine is well built though, the lowly placed blades ensure great blending action and the ability to dismantle and store in bits is also helpful, making this a good buy.
