Advantages: Produces very tasty, smooth, filling smoothies, Easy to use - works with just a few buttons and measurements are marked on the jug and ease of pouring with spout

Disadvantages: Fruit pieces can restrict/prevent flow of smoothie when pouring, Can be a task to clean, depending on fruit used

What an invention! This smoothie maker was bought for me as a present from my mum when i moved into our student house and after having sampled our smoothies, quite a few of my friends have added this maker to their Christmas lists!
The smoothie maker is really great because you can put crazy combinations into it and produce something that actually tastes nice as well as being healthy (as long as the ice cream is kept to a minimum!).
The device comes with an instruction book including recipe ideas to get you started. It has different buttons which perform different functions 'mix' to be used first, followed by 'smooth' and 'pulse' for a quick blast of the ingredients. There is a spout from which the smoothie can be poured which is brilliant for limiting mess! The only problem is that bits sometimes get stuck in there and restrict the flow when you pour the smoothie out of the container.
The container itself is great as it has measurements marked on it for 2 and 4 servings as to how much liquid and solid ingredients should be added.
A great thing to experiment with is the alcoholic smoothie - very popular at parties!
Just make sure that after use you whizz water through the container for ease of cleaning!
