Advantages: Makes some really nice mix

Disadvantages: Too noisey, too big and far too much cleaning invovled.

I got all excited about this product , all the ideas I had. I was going to make the best smoothies and cocktails. I even brought a book of cocktails and smoothies which was going to be my bible
So how often have I used my smoothie maker since the first time. I would at a guess say only around 5 times. I have had this device for around 1 year which I brought in the summer of 2006 when I had all my great ideas.
To begin this product was exciting I brought all the stuff I was going to put in it. Which I might add was a lot of fruit.
I placed all the stuff in the maker , (Once it had taken me a while to work out which bit went where) A ton of fruit later and I had the perfect mix. I got my glass and placed it under the tap. Pulled the tape up and filled the glass to the brim. It tasted lovely.
I then realised I had made far to much so forced my partner to have a glass too which he loved. By this time I still had lots of mix left and no where to put it.
We drunk the rest even though we wished we could save it some where with out the mix going off due to the amount of fruit and money that had gone into the batch.
Now it was time to clean the machine. What a task. You have to dismantle the machine bit by bit and the only way to remove the excess mix is to leave the product in a warm basin of water and return to it at a later time to clean the device with soap.
Now its time to store the machine but where to put it ? It sits in my already small kitchen taking up lots of room and now gathering dust as me and my partner cannot master the energy to make a batch of smoothie.
The smoothie is really nice and easy to make with maybe a little more noise than required.
The fault of this machine is the cleaning and storage. Is all this worth it for a few glasses of over priced smoothie.
I think this machine will continue to gather dust and I will go to the shops and buy an already made smoothie.
I gained this items as a gift after much begging to my partner even though he told me what would happen (it would be left to gather dust).
Overall if you are addicted to smoothies and dont mind a bit of hard cleaning and have a very large kitchen this product is for you.
Myself , I think I will stick to Costa ! Let them do all the hard work ! LOL.
