Advantages: blends well, is easy to use, good size
Disadvantages: bit noisy
I was really excited when i purchased this blender as it was my first ever smoothie maker, and I had spent alot of time researching and looking into different blenders to see which one was best. When I finally decided on this one and brought it was i was so happy and couldnt wait to get using it. I decided the best way to see if id made the right decision in buying it would be to see what i could create, by experimenting with different fruits. The blender comes with a reciepe book to help with this which has reciepes for 14 different smoothie drinks and 6 alcoholic drinks all of which are really easy to create.
The first thing I noticed when using it was how powerful the blades were, no matter what fruit I put in it was able to cut it. However I would advise as with all blenders its best to cut the fruit into pieces before placing them in the blender otherwise your'll find lots of hard bits in your smoothie mixture. The blender is a 350w and has 2 different speeds a mix&smooth and a pulse action. I found it normally takes between 20 to 30 seconds for it to blend everything to my satisfaction.
The container itself is alot small than others as its only a 1litre container and most other smoothie makers are 1.5litres, but this does make it perfect for making smoothies for the kids. The container is transparent which really helped as it meant i was able to keep an eye on the fruit and mixture and was able to tell when it was done. The blender also has a stirring stick which is fab as it means half way thru blending the mixture i was able to, stop it and give everything a quick stir and then turn it back on which helped create the perfect smoothie (lump free).
The blender has a tap which you push down to release your mixture. The tap is really good although I would advise thats its best to leave the machine running whilst using the tap to pour your drink out otherwise the liquid can tend to settle thick on the bottom so youd end up waiting ages. Once finished with the blender its very easy to take apart and clean .. all the bits can be taken apart and cleaned seperatly which really helped .
The only negative thing i have to say about this blender is that it is quiet noisy slight problem.. but i supose thats to be expected with any blender and the noise can easily be overlooked considering how great it is.
overall i am very happy with my purchase and for the cost of £20 quid on ebay or amazon i would say its definitly a bargin :). I have used mine countless times and its still going strong.
Summary: great for the kids :)
