There are two speed settings, which makes it more versatile. The two different speeds are achieved by pushing the button lightly or with more pressure, which means it's quite difficult sometimes to be sure what speed you're using. There also doesn't seem to be a massive amount of difference between the two speeds.

I received this as a gift from my sister when I moved away from home a couple of years ago. It is great for making soup, smoothies and home-made ice-cream - basically, everything that needs a decent blender. Looks: it is white down to the part just beyond where it comes apart. Buttons are grey; one is the button that makes it blend, while the other clicks down and causes the blender to split in two for cleaning and storage.
