      Moulinex Blender

My mother in law has a fancy dancy do it all 100 different types of blades/attachments type of blender and I find it so difficult to use that I knew I didn't want something as cumbersome as that. Plus it takes up so much room in her cupboards that I knew it wouldn't fit in my house and also I didn't want to pay too much money for something that I would probably only use for about another year or so. This Moulinex blender fit all my criteria as at £30 it was cheap and it only had the jug and a small little coffee grinder included which was all I needed.

The capacity of the jug is 1.25 litres so you can really fit a lot of ingredients in it which is nice. The jug is plastic and so is quite light when you lift it off after you have blended your ingredients. I find the glass ones are sometimes too heavy for me so I am glad this is plastic. I tend to make smoothies mostly with this blender and have been really impressed with the results. The blades are really quite sharp. I tend to add frozen fruit and ice cubes to this blender along with orange juice or milk and the frozen bits cut up really well and do not get stuck like other machines I have used. I hate it when you have bits of food blocking up the blender and have to keep turning it off and on again, with this Moulinex you do not have to do that.

There is just one button on the front which controls the speed and this will go up to 400w power which does give you quite a wizz once it is going. I find it blends quite quickly and everything comes out really evenly done.

The blender isn't that fancy looking, in fact to me it does look a bit cheap and white plastic but that's because it is and we put it away in the cupboard anyway so I don't really mind that it is not that fancy looking. The base is quite large so it is sturdy enough when it is standing although I generally always hold the top of the blender just in case when it really gets going as I am always afraid that the top will come off and spread liquid all over the kitchen! The top fits on this perfectly though so there really is no worry of that. The plug is attached to the blender so you do have to use it close to a socket but the cord is fairly long and so will stretch a bit.

I find this is very easy to clean. I do wash it out straight away once I have poured out my ingredients so nothing will stick to the blades and then I give it a good wash later when I am doing the washing up. I don't obviously sink the base into water as this is where the motor is but you can easily wipe this clean with a damp cloth as it is a plastic material.

Like I said it comes with a coffee grinder but I actually haven't used this function so I can't comment on this. All in all this is a good cheap blender that does its jobs quickly and easily and is one I recommend.
